Elk Creek Campground is what Ron Swanson’s dreams are made of. Its five first-come, first-served sites sit far back in the woods off Forest Road 13, near the North Fork Malheur Wild and Scenic River. While there’s a good chance you won’t have to face another human while you’re out there, you’ll see lots of Rocky Mountain Elk and mule deer in the winter.
