Pitch your tent by our pond in the middle of our 80 acre pasture surrounded by field and trees. And property is located just 5 miles from a major horseback riding park (Elijah Bristow) and just 15 short miles if you want a little more difficult horseback riding trail or hiking trail at (Mount Pisgah). for the boater or fisherman we are minutes away from Dexter Lake and Dexter Dam and only 28 miles from a large shopping mall. and if that's not enough you can head East on hwy. 58 for 60 miles and you will find yourself at the Willamette Pass Ski Lodge.

You will get off I-5 onto hwy 58. Go through the town of Pleasant Hill and then as you are leaving town (past the school's) you will come to a flashing yellow light. In a couple more miles you will see a second flashing yellow light. On the right at the second yellow light is Rattlesnake Road. Turn right in Rattlesnake and go about 4 miles. Lost Valley Road will be on the right. (Just as you come down off a Hill you will hit a little straight stretch.... if you come to Parvin Road on the left and the sharp turn that goes to the right then you went too far). After you turn right onto Lost Valley you will see a white covered bridge on the left. Anthony Creek Road is directly across from that on the right. It is a gravel road. As soon as you turn on Anthony Creek you will be bordering my pasture. The first two double gates you come to on the right is where you enter. If we are done haying and the gates are closed then the horses are out there so be sure to close the gates back up. There is a mild ditch but just take it at an angle and you should be okay. I drive through there with my big horse trailer.

Once in the pasture stay to the left and along the fenceline to the trees then turn right and follow the trees until you see an opening in the trees on the left and turn through the opening then an immediately right. You will see the pond. The small creek should be dried up by then, but if it isn't it is okay to drive through.

You can access the river under the white bridge, and there is a small boat at the pond that you are welcome to use and if you leave my field and turn right you can follow the road to the end and there are several old logging roads to hike on (not accessible by car). You are also only about 2 miles from Dexter reservoir and Dam.

And if you have pets or go walking around be mindful that there are wildlife in the area (Cougar, Coyote, Bear). Although they don't bother you be mindful that they are present and keep your pets in with you at night.

Joni’s back pasture is flat and peaceful, with beautiful 360° views. The frogs in the pond serenade campers and the horses and cows are curious and friendly. The makeshift toilet is outside (surrounded by brambles and plants that create privacy) and therefore doesn’t smell. Joni herself is helpful and responsive, but unobtrusive. If you don’t mind horse and cow poop, I highly recommend this lovely setting!

We are local and just got a small motor home from the mother in law. Wanted to stay somewhere close and try it out.
We actually stayed longer then planned because the wife loved the privacy, (there was only one other camper that stayed one night during our stay) and all the animals that came by to visit every day.
The goats are kinda fun to watch when they roll through camp. It was so nice and clear at night we threw the mattress on the ground and slept under the stars a few nights. One morning I was woken up by big mama cow nudging me. The horses are beautiful to watch and come right into camp.
The pond is a pond. It’s a water hole for the animals.
Muddy bank but clean water. We didn’t have any problem with mosquitoes. My dogs loved stalking the frogs.
There’s a creek right by the gate where you come into the field. It’s low this time of year (August) but just right for our two year old granddaughter that came to visit and the dogs.
We met Joni and talked to her for a bit. Very cool lady!
We would stay again and would recommend

beautiful! was a good place to stop and rest on our road trip.

some critiques:
- hard to find, instructions were very detailed and clear however the lot was large and confusing
- horse poop in the field where we stayed, and we had to make sure we didnt step in any accidentally

We stayed for 2 nights and will definitely be booking Camp by the Pond again! We had such a wonderful stay. Our host Joni was very welcoming and we absolutely loved having the horses come and drink from the pond every day!

Joni's property is unbelievable. Like other reviewers mentioned, it is surreal with the herd of cows and horses. The horses are extremely friendly and not phased by our dogs who had never seen horses before. The property is big another is plenty of room around of the pond - there were 2 other groups our second night and still felt private. I would definitely recommend bringing a sun shade since there is not a lot of natural shade around the pond.

Great location, not far from the city but you’re still on a remote farm. Joni’s last is a gem and the animals that greeted us were friendly and calm - horses and cows came to drink at the pond during sunset! Idyllic scene, would highly recommend this stay. Joni was thoughtful and greeted us when we came in. We are grateful to be able to access this land. Thank you Joni!
