My 3.2 acre property is situated on the Seguin river and features a woodfired sauna on the river itself with a dock with ladder and a 6 ft deep swimming area My open area’s are surrounded by a mix of coniferous and evergreen trees and my cottaging neighbours are a fair distance away and not visible We do have a chicken coop and run with 5 chickens that provide us with fresh free range eggs when available for a reasonable price. We have a canoe and a kayak that my guests can use to paddle to the falls which are about 600 m upstream and feature a beautiful set of falls and swimming area Great for a trip with kids, having lunch or portage and continue the journey on the river upstream to lower fry lake Hook up to non potable ( river water ) is an option with your own hoses Electrical hook up is a possibility as well to charge the battery in your RV. There are plans for an outhouse for campers and a small outdoor kitchen area Laundry facilities are available as well in my basement if neededOur property is located on a secluded and therefore very quiet spot right on the Seguin River 600 m from the Seguin Falls by canoe or kayak If you want a Muskoka lake experience 5 min by car 30 min by foot you can visit a tiny public beach on Lake Manitouwaba with a very shallow area perfectly for kids and adults alike You can canoe or kayak around the lake Our property is 3.2 acres but the actual camping area can accommodate about 4 large or 6 smaller tents and 2 class B and C RV’s Water supply under pressure from the river is available but because of otter and beaver not recommended for drinking but fine for all other water needs The plan is to create in early spring an outhouse and outdoor kitchen area. Our area is of historical significance being close to the falls and the ghost town of Seguin Falls of which the original school house and post office/store still exist and are currently privately owned cottages Seguin Falls boasted in the early 1900’s 400 inhabitants, 2 churches a school, a butcher and general store/ post office while it is also situated on the old Nipissing road that connected Toronto to the north in the early 1800’s by stagecoach The road was an important way in for early settlers looking for a new homestead The Saint George hotel right on the bed of the original Booth’s railway in the village unfortunately burned down 20 year ago The railway which was build in the late 1800’s and discontinued carrying goods and passengers in the fifties is now the famous park to park trail system running from depot harbour close to Parry Sound to Algonquin park The original railroad ended in Arnprior close to Ottawa and was used to ship lumber and agricultural products to the harbour where they could be shipped anywhere on the Great Lakes or even make it to the st Lawrence river where lumber could be shipped out to the ocean and on to Europe or southern harbours in the US Our property is 30 min drive from Parry sound, a pretty town with a beautiful harbour and famous historical trestle bridge still in use by Canadian railways as wel as Canadian pacific railway company and VIA rail traffic Parry sound is known for its splendid location on Georgian, bay a haven for kayakers an hikers and home to the Island Queen a small cruise ship that tours in through part of the 30.000 islands archipelago It is the main commercial centre in the area with all the small and large (box) stores plus a state of the art hospital Parry Sound is 30 and 45 min from two well know provincial parks Killbear and Algonquin park
