Sugar Meadow is a campsite that tucks into a corner between the meadow and the forest. You will need to walk to it from the parking lot for about one minute. There is a ravine that wraps around the site. There are pathways that runs along side of the site, making it semi-private, since other campers could walk by, but it wouldn't happen very often. In fact, you are visually out of sight. The site is big enough for two tents, although the second tent will have a slight slope to deal with. The ground is a bit bumpy, so make sure you have a good sleeping mat. This site has it's own fire ring, and is mostly private. It's close to the outhouse, unlike the bush camp. This site is great if you want to be close to your vehicle and the outhouse. Good for daytrippers. Campers are welcome to explore all of the mowed pathways that cross most of our 10 acre property. You will walk through Carolinian Forest and Meadows. Small creeks cross the property in many places, and dry up in the summer. The hobby farm hosts pigs and chickens of heritage breeds. The gardens are large and abundant in produce. There are sometimes eggs available for sale. There is a big common firepit surrounded by farm life and open starry skies.

The campsite at Sugar Meadow is surrounded on one side by trees that almost feel like you're in the jungle! It feels private and is not too far of a walk from the washroom. Petrina and her family are so kind and welcoming and I loved spending some time in the garden and with the chickens! Would highly recommend to other campers.
We enjoyed Petrina's hospitality! We enjoyed our time around the fireplace with Petrina and her guest. This is such an inviting atmosphere.
The animals - chickens....so many and the new born chicks were a treat to be around.
We saw a rabbit on the property, and there are 2 pigs and the family cat. (I Love Animal's of all sorts!)
There are options for different types of camping too!
We definitely will return and maybe try out the site in the far back, next time. ❣❣❣
