The driveway and roads here are perfect for those with mobility issues. The roads are all paved, but the traffic is very light, making it perfect for accessible strolls and rolls. You can roll on down the drive and enjoy nature from the quiet paved roads. During the summer the gardens are also accessible for those with mobility issues, unless too much rain turns the clay soil to muck.
The "hike" down the road, I like to take is awesome because you only walk past one house, and it's a few kilometers!! I recommend spending some time on a bike. It's great country to quietly cycle along.
The property hosts a mini farm, complete with free range chickens and heritage pigs. The wildlife is noisy. We have all kinds of amphibian life, bird life and coyotes, making our place one full of natural sounds.
Rural setting means that during planting and harvesting season, you will hear industrial farming at work. If the wind is right for it, you will hear the wind turbines also, but the wildlife is noisier. And don't forget all the target practice that goes on during hunting season in the country.
We live off the-grid in a modified office trailer while building our earthship home. Conversations about alternative housing, and off grid living can to be had with the hosts during your stay.
This is a great location for birders, hikers, cyclists, wine tasters and beach lovers. There are many local attractions to cater to any of these interests. You should google it.
Belly Dance Gardens is a business, too. We run an unique membership garden. We also sell pastured farm fresh eggs (that you might have the opportunity to collect yourself!)
There is The Hounds of Erie Winery just a short walk down the road.
There are a lot of great hiking/birding trails around us, too. Google Norfolk Trails.
Just a few minutes drive away, there is the majestic Sand Hills.
Long Point is only 15 minutes away. There is so much to see there.
If you want to see migratory birds up close, you should look up the bird banding station in Long Point.

Petrina and Roger are amazing hosts and wonderful kind people. I arrived in bad weather in a storm, Petrina came up to me multiple times to make sure I was comfortable. Roger is so kind and helped me get my tent up at 11 pm at night, something that I struggled with for an hour.
They are amazing and so is the farm and surrounding woods. The outhouse is surprisingly clean. I was amazed at how well they run the place.
I had a great night camping under a starlit sky free from light pollution of any sort. I even met a coyote that wandered in late night up to my tent and chair and who got started by my surprised cry (poor thing).
I would love to visit again.
Staying with Patrina was an awesome first Hipcamp experience. She was super welcoming and willing to accommodate, even invited us along to a community hike. We would absolutely stay again.
It was really neat! Very welcoming people! Petrina gave us a little tour of their off grid farm. The have a cool garden and lots of chickens! I look forward to when they complete their earth ships. Would stay there again!
Had a fabulous stay at Petrina's farm. Petrina showed us around the property and is so passionate about sustainable living, it's amazing to see. Her hospitality went above and beyond. The chickens are great entertainment and are all so pretty. A great place to stay for an evening!

Had great pleasure meeting the family and staying at the mini farm! A fun place to stay at and will definitely be back!
Soooo much to see and discover and a garden lover’s dream!
A multitude of alternative power sources can be viewed and respected at this location as well as the beginnings of an earth ship
Petrina your beautiful host is both modest and vast in the knowledge of her garden (have a chat with her if you can) as she is a beautiful soul
Beyond conversation an abundance of veggies can be found in the gardens as well as chickens and pigs
Lovely forest and very clean composting toilet

Beautiful property hosted by an even sweeter family! Highly recommend if you're looking for a quiet farm life experience. We came away with fresh eggs and grocery bags of farm fresh produce from such a generous host. We will definitely back! We miss it already!

Patrina was such a great host, we stayed in our camper van with our 2 kids and great dane. She made us feel so welcomed from the time we got there. She let our kids expore the gardens, feed the pigs and get the eggs from the chicken coop which we bought ($5/dozen) for breakfast. The kids really enjoyed catching frogs and tadpoles and playing on the zipline and playset. They even invited us to a campfire with her family and friends. Fantastic stay.

Very interesting and accommodating property. The gardens are gorgeous and the earthships in development are very interesting. Lots of space and choice on where to camp. Composting toilet is in a covenient location for the driveway sites and the clear starry skies were a pleasure to camp under. We unfortunately did not explore the wooded sites and paths, which I feel was a missed opportunity. Lovely property, lovely hosts in beautiful Norfolk County. I would definitely recommend.
