Dairy Meadow is about 1/3 of an acre fenced area at the front of our farm. You'll be parked down the driveway that borders the fence and you'll be able to step out and see our Barn, that we call the Cheesecake Factory, and the back pasture grazing areas. The sunsets are incredible here and the night sky is beautiful. You'll be able to see chickens, ducks, cows, and goats and more from your windows. It's a big grassy area with plenty of room to spread out. With easy access just off the highway just about any set up should be able to pull in with your RV or camping vehicle and be able to turn around with ease. (We can do it with our 60ft set up.)
This is a communal area so there may be people coming and going or other self contained campers (not tents, but we do have tent sites available) staying in the area. There is a communal fire pit and picnic table available to use.
You'll also have access to the tranquil Wild Rose Pond just down the Blackerry Trail where you can swim, fish, use your SUPs, canoes, and kayaks, or just kick back and enjoy the view. We often see herons and eagles there, as well as many other birds and animals. Surrounded by wild roses on most sides that provide a shower of white flowers in spring, it’s a small pond that varies in height, but generally no higher than 6ft at its deepest. Relax around the fire pit with the picnic table, hammocks, or camping chairs located on the shore of the pond. Along the path to the pond there is also a compost toilet with hand sanitizer available. This is a community area so if we are doing farm tours there may be passers by or if our other campsites are rented by another group there may be others coming and going. At the house we have an enclosed outside shower with hot water available. Because of the proximity to the highway (which makes for easy access to the farm) there is road noise, but it does taper off significantly during the evening and overnight hours.
Our farm driveway is conveniently located right on highway 82, but the farm is nestled behind some other properties and not directly on the highway. Within one mile there is a Dollar General, Cowboys (convenience store with discount groceries, gas, propane, and a deli), The Rabbit Trap diner, Bob's Mini Mart, a dispensary, and more in the town of Peggs if you need supplies. Spring Creek is nearby and is a great place to wade or fish. Tahlequah is 20 minutes away and is the capital of the Cherokee nation and has museums, parks, casino, and plenty of shopping venues and restaurants. The Illinois River is also there which is a great place for rafting and recreating.

Lovely place to camp and learn!
This was the perfect place to stay for the two nights we were in town. It’s easy to find, there are CUTE animals, we felt safe, and hosts are lovely, genuinely kind and thoughtful humans :)
You’ll leave with a full heart
Idyllic farmstead, lovely family and delightful farm animal friends. I highly recommend if you have kiddos or you don’t. But my three year old (and my inner three year old) were completely thrilled with our stay. Also, Ashley is a wealth of plant knowledge if you’ve an interest in the medicinal or edible.
