Description

Posted up on the northwest end of Heyburn Lake, Sheppard Point Campground is the closest campsite to the Heyburn Wildlife Management Area. This nearly 6,000 acre tract of land is rich in oak, elms, sycamore, and native grass meadows. Because of the diversity of soils and vegetation, this is a great spot to see wildlife or hunt game species like quail, turkey, deer, and rabbit. Just be sure to check in with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation and do things right.
