Come out and unwind from the stress of your everyday life to this small, intimate cottage/cabin. Sitting only feet from a babbling creek, this is an ideal retreat for a couple. The cabin has  a full size memory foam mattress, wood floors, and is half timber/half canvas.

This cabin is part of the Viking Longhall Campground, a 5 acre campground set in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.

The field is close enough to the Appalachian highway (state route 32) for convenience but far enough not to be bothered by it. The area is steeped in Native American culture. In fact, the world famous Serpent Mound is but 8 miles away, with many other Adena culture sites within easy driving distance. It's also in the heart of the Amish community.

The area is known for its natural beauty with many hiking trails and canoeing opportunities.

The cabin comes complete with everything you will need: bedding, pots, pans,  crockery, utensils, candles, lamps, coolers, a grill, water, firewood, benches, chairs, and towels. Just grab your clothes, food and beverages and head out here for some much needed R and R!

Words fall short to describe the comfort and inspiration we found in this special place. David was so generous in inviting us to take up space since we were the only campers around, and came to check on us in the evening. We appreciated the stories, coffee, fresh wood and many other thoughtful offerings throughout. Spent good time in the creek and looking at the stars. It rained a couple days and the cottage was a lovely candle lit refuge for cooking and sipping tea from the long hall.

You can not put a price on how luxurious of a stay this was! If I thought to myself, shoot it would be nice if I packed or had thought this....all you had to do was look around and it was magically already there! If it wasn't in the little cottage it was for sure in the Longhall which we were allowed access to bc it wasn't rented out. Our first night we were the only guests and got all of the luxuries of the entire camp to ourselves. It was AMAZING!! David recommended a nearby hiking trail which was hands down the best hike of my life. Talking with both David and Ivy (I was pretty sure I got it right) was almost as delightful as the nature surrounding you. The second night there a famiy with 2 children stayed at another site. We all gathered after dark to talk and play music. They have multiple drums and other instruments. They were so kind to the children and inclusive when playing music. They have some card games that are family friendly too. I enjoyed playing a game with the kids. They have ax throwing for adults and a set of child friendly ones too.
The beautiful nature, tons of firewood, fresh coffee delivery, hot shower and conversations make this place feel like a slice of heaven. I feel like they could have charged me triple and it still would have been worth every penny. But I am very glad they don't because I want to come back as soon as possible but this weekend is already booked ☺

It was simply magical! The hosts are amazing, and the property is special, with lots of unique little touches everywhere that go a long way. We loved it so much! And David has everything you could possibly need, which is not an understatement, so if you forget something you can likely find it somewhere on the property. We also had the chance to venture out to Serpent Mound when we were there which was fantastic. So, lots to do in the area as well. We will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful night's stay at the Creekside Cottage! Everything was set up for us. David and Ivea thought of everything. From the fire, to all the candles, to the coffee in the morning. It was an absolute beautiful retreat from the world!

We stayed in the beginning of June at the Creekside Cottage and were absolutely blown away by the amount of thought, work and creativity put into the grounds. Everything was in order; David brought down water, coffee and firewood for us each day and made many check-ins. He suggested the hiking path for us to take and was delightful to talk to! The cottage was furnished and had everything you could think of so we didn’t have to. Just sitting amongst the trees with the creek babbling behind us and the clearest night sky and stars above was utterly beautiful and therapeutic. The space was comfy as well, slept soundly! We will definitely be back and highly recommended for a getaway from the busyness of modern life to escape! Thank you!

The Creekside Cottage was the oasis we needed. It's absolutely perfect. Comfy bed, private, and absolutely surrounded by nature. At night the cabin is completely lit by candles and it is magic. Sitting under the trees with the soft rain falling as we enjoyed s'mores over the campfire was an absolute wonder. The hosts were an absolute delight. The cabin is well outfitted, and if there's anything else you need, just ask.

The very comfy bed in the Creekside Cottage. We slept so well. Half of the Creekside Cottage: utensils, cooking implements, pots, pans, bowls, plates, mugs, and glasses. You really just need your food and drink! The fire pit at the Creekside Cottage

What a darling tiny home! We were very happy with the awesome ambience created by all the perfect little touches inside the cottage! The glow of the gleaming tea lights at night, the soft sounds of the creek right outside and the beauty of the campgrounds greenery made our stay quite relaxing! There is just a sense of enchantment to the area!
Our hosts were welcoming and made sure we had all we needed while staying there...coffee every morning, an abundance of wood for our fire and sharing stories of the Longhall and how it came to be. We enjoyed chatting and laughing at our fire. Dave and Iveagh, such a pleasure to meet both of you! Thank you for your unbridled hospitality! We can't wait to stay again!
