Our backyard campsite is only 9 km from the centre of Alice Springs. Its located in a rural/urban setting. Alice Springs is as famous for the personality of its locals and contemporary and traditional art as the natural wonders, including the stunning Larapinta Trail and the MacDonnell Ranges, which surround it. The Swag Inn camping spot has access to an outdoor shower and toilet and laundry sink. Enjoy the view of the ranges and the amazing stars in the desert night sky from your campsite. Listen to the bird calls and enjoy the peace. Campers are welcome to enjoy the BBQ Firepit and firewood, within local restrictions. Around town, there are numerous sites of historical significance to the region’s settler history, including the Old Telegraph Station Reserve, which marks the town’s important role as the mid-point of the 19th-century telegraph line running from Adelaide to Darwin. Sculptures and Great hosts!
The campsite itself is huge and very cozy with all the sculptures, but our favourite bit about staying is the help you get. Our car had broke down in Alice and we went here for the night. They've been total life savers, offering their hospitality and even helping us into and out of town. Best hosts we've had.

Peaceful stay
Really enjoyed our 2 night stay at Kathy and Ashley’s property. We appreciated all the recommendations they gave us on tourist activities and local spots worth visiting. We felt so safe with our two toddlers and loved exploring the grounds. Only a 10 minute drive to Alice was handy as well.

Great spot in Alice
Great spot, just out of town, nice and private and feels very safe. Quirky spot with a rustic shower and toilet and a great fire pit too. Lots of effort put in to make this place fun for visitors. Kathy and Ash were very accomodating and friendly, will happily stay again next time we’re in Alice.

We used Kathy’s place as a base for 5 days as we explored this magnificent land. We are so pleased we chose this over a caravan park. It is peaceful and relaxing just a few km out of town. They have done an amazing job setting up the camp area, with excellent toilet and shower facilities. The BBQ and fire pit area is amazing, with the attention to detail very impressive. We have a large caravan, and our friends have a tent, and it was equally suitable for us both. I would definitely recommend a stay here.
