My partner and I had a wonderful time at Susan's mountain top camper. The views were amazing and we enjoyed hiking up to Bearwallow Mountain and up to Ferguson Peak. The camper was very pleasant and the kitchen was perfect for meals and coffee. We opted to use the outhouse in the woods and it was a fun experience for both of us :-). We made the half-hour trek into Asheville, and also explored some breweries and trails in Fairview. Hoping to visit again soon.
I was so happy to be staying at the camper in the mountains. Susan was very communicative and thorough . The directions she gave were easy to follow and we drove in late at night. She left the light in the rv on and flags to mark the entrance. She messaged us prior to with Physical directions and landmarks. All very specific and easy to follow.
The camper was immaculate! The couch bed was modern and so very comfortable and easy to pull out the bed linens were fresh and clean and the blanket was really warm and soft. The camper was freshly painted and in great condition. It looks and feels happy. I am a designer so I appreciated it very much. Susan left a jar of pink freshly picked welcome flowers that I particularly enjoyed. The temperatures in the evenings got down to high 30s or low 40s There is a heater that worked so well we had to adjust the temperature or we would be too warm. Comfy bed, cozy blankets and warm heating, all very much appreciated. There is a cool all in one coffee maker toaster and small cook stove provided which was all we needed. She also had basic toiletries, soap, toilet paper paper towels towels hand towels etc. Also a compost toilet inside that was easy to use and didnt smell at all. We slept perfectly with no sounds around just quiet! Then,,,,,,we woke up to glorious magical mountains with the fall colors surrounding you. You cannot see her home or any neighbors from the top of the hill and it was just so lovely. There are two chairs provided outside and two extra fold out chairs inside. What a perfect place to enjoy coffee. You are on a hill surrounded by nature and mountains and only 20-25 minutes to Asheville and a short drive to black mountain. We drove the scenic route to black mountain which is about and hour drive the long way or you can go to balck mountain the short way which is 30 minutes way and chimney rock only 15 minutes away..
We haved camped and stayed in airbnbs and many hipcamps and this spot was just so wonderful we will be back. Also with the rv camper you can pitch tents as well so our next stay we will be bringing our older children to join. Also forgot to mention the outdoor shower! Susan cares about the space and leaves you alone to have privacy which I appreciate. She is however available to email call or text for anything you may need. We would drive about 7 minutes to a small coffee shop and bookstore called Daymoon coffee bar and enjoy some reading and some wifi if needed. They have really good pastries and the best coffee cake ever.
We had a wonderful stay!
