Great location, loved that I had the property to myself. Tree house was super fun. It was my first time sleeping in a tree house and I loved everything about it. Layout of everything from the view area, the treehouse location and the fire pit area is awesome and the views from the laid back chairs are outstanding.

Very nice and well kept site and area. Within walking distance of a little general store and gem mine...if you're okay with hills. Can hear the creek from the site when it's quiet. Thank you!

Martins Nest is definitely a little oasis. Absolutely beautiful and has everything you need. If you are even remotely thinking about booking this place, just do it. You won’t regret it. I highly recommend it.

A little more about Martins Nest:
-It is located pretty close to Martin’s other listing (you’ll park near the other site). (To note: his other site would be perfect for a large group).
-It has potable water spout with a shower head near your parking spot. Cold water only.
-It’s about a 100yd walk into the woods to the treehouse. Along this walk is two picnic tables.
-The treehouse could fit 2 adults (+/-) 1 or 2 small kids comfortably. It lightly rained a little while we were there and the tree house completely protected us. No need for a tent setup or anything more the shelter you. There are hooks below the treehouse perfect for hammocks.
-Right next to an open area with a fire pit and grate. (Fire wood is $6 at the gas station a mile away)
-Has a 5gal bucket with a toilet seat on top, compost and TP.

The only downside: I was expecting views of the Smoky Mountains based off one of the pictures posted. Unfortunately, you do not see this view from anywhere on the campsite.

I am so sorry you missed the view site. It was around the corner to the left from the place where you first enter the site. There is a little curve in the bushes for privacy but it sounds like it worked too well this time. The two sites share the same view up there, though the seating areas are still separate.

Great place to stay if you’re looking for a secluded campsite that’s more convenient than back-country camping but not as populated as a campground. The treehouse is a neat spot to sleep and there’s plenty of room for a tent or two on the ground near the fire pit as well. The walk from the car isn’t too long or challenging. Area was very clean and well maintained.

MySelf: “An amazing backdrop and an excellent place for a romantic getaway. It felt very secluded and the mountain air did wonders for the soul. I would certainly recommend it.”
My Partner: “Certainly not for the faint of heart. We slept open air with our sleeping bags as the wolves howled through the night. Fear of bears or worse haunted my dreams. Surreal experience but a wonderful view”
