Phillip and Ruthy were both very kind and interesting. Def my kind of people. Loved the wood stove and if you have all the time in the world, do yourself a favor boil some water for coffee on that thing. So satisfying. The property is beautiful. I bet the gardens are amazing during spring. Conveniently backed up against national park land and the AT passes right through.
Just what I needed! It was very peaceful, just lovely being in the the trees and great walking distance to the AT. If you're up for simplicity, this is the perfect spot. I did get cell service, which I was surprised, but learned there is a cell tower up in the hills, if you're concerned about that. Bathrooms/shower were a very short walk to the main cabin. Phillip was very warm and welcoming, I'd love to stay with them again in the future.
We really enjoyed the location and privacy of the cabin.
Ruthy and Philllip are wonderful hosts, and made sure we had everything we needed, including thorough directions to their place. We will absolutely come back again!
A beautiful, serene cabin nestled quietly in the Appalachians, a truly magical experience! We loved our stay here at the Artist’s Cabin! It’s so quiet, peaceful, and the perfect escape. There is so much to explore on the property and in the local area too. We loved our little hikes. The sun peeking through the tree line backed by a beautiful pink sky perfectly embodied the tranquility of the stay. David and his guests are so kind and mindful, wonderful people to converse with! A truly magical experience.

My stay was phenomenal! I wanted to find a place where I could relax find peace and hike and this place provides that and more. Everyone was so nice and welcoming, hot showers, clean linens, breath taking views on the hikes...I absolutely love this and legit cried In the car when I had to leave. Definitely will be coming back for another visit.
Overall, everything was very nice! Clean sheets, potable water, and hot showers. Star gazing, a friendly pup, and super close to gorgeous Max Patch. Be sure to bring bug spray and pack out your trash but it was a great stay.
