ABOUT Zaytuna Farm Eco Hamlet is a highly active Permaculture demonstration site and has been used to teach permaculture to countless international and local students for the past 20 years. It is at the forefront of Permaculture Design, displaying many permaculture principles, and produces an abundance of food and various yields from within its living environment. Zaytuna Farm Eco Hamlet is a family friendly farm, situated on a sixty six acre (27 hectares) property that fronts Terania Creek opposite the village of The Channon, Northern NSW. The property is completely off-grid and contains 800m of creek frontage with fishing spots, a swimming hole for campers, and abundant wildlife ideal for bird watchers. Zaytuna Farm Eco Hamlet has recently become a community of 8 private residences that share this beautiful property. We kindly ask that campers respect the residents’ privacy, however if you spot them on the common grounds, they are always up for a friendly chat. CAMPSITE The campsite is situated on the communal grounds at the heart of Zaytuna Farm Eco Hamlet on flat lawn surrounded by bamboo and the sounds of the rainforest. We also have 10 raised camping shelters on offer, suitable for small tents for 1-2 people. Campers have close access to bathrooms built from eco-friendly shipping containers with composting toilets and warm showers; a fire pit, a kitchen garden to share from, an education/function center (available for hire), a common sheltered area to relax with wifi, and an equipped shared kitchen. OTHER NOTES We strictly have a no drug and alcohol policy. Due to our policy and customs, we kindly ask that no pork products enter the property, and that reasonably modest clothing is worn (shoulders down to knees covered is fine) including around the swimming hole. Please note this is not the place for partying, but a place for connecting with nature and nurturing wellbeing. We kindly ask that all rubbish is taken off the premise as there are no bins. Children 7 years and under stay free. We look forward to hosting you! OFFERINGS: - Farm Tour by bookings (1.5hrs) - Organic free range eggs if available ($12 doz) - Seasonal organic veggie basket subject to availability - Firewood ($15) LOCATION: Zaytuna Farm Eco Hamlet is ideally located in the Byron Hinterland - 45mins from Ballina airport, 45mins to Byron Bay, 20mins to the vibrant Nimbin, 12mins to Whian Whian falls (another great place to swim), minutes to Nightcap National Park (currently being restored after floods), and a local general store with laundromat and petrol station just down the road. The Main Campsite Zaytuna Farm
It was okay. The actually area is very enclosed with high trees. We purchased firewood but there was only one fire on the campsite and a large family were already using it, so that should have been clearer. We were woke up at 6am with screaming between one of the staff members and a guest over where they had parked their car. The staff member was completely in the wrong, causing a scene and it really didn’t have to happen at 6 in the morning. We had a 2 night stay booked but left after one night.

Camping Platform Zaytuna Farm
Loved the raised platform for tent camping. It was perfect for 2 people but would be tight if there were more people. Awesome hospitality from the staff members.

Top weekender
It's a lovely secluded place with clean facilities and lots to see close by. The owners are so lovely too. We had a great long weekend away.

Camping Platform Zaytuna Farm
Those camping platforms are great!
The camping has everything you need, it often rained but thanks to the platform it was no issue. Staff was always nice and friendly, kitchen has all you need, also books and good WiFi. Located close to lots of hikes, national parks and Byron Bay, it is perfect as a base to explore the areas around. I would definitely recommend and go back

The Main Campsite Zaytuna Farm
Five star review for the Zaytuna Farm campsite, our family had an amazing time, hosts were very welcoming and made us feel at home and were there to help with anything we needed. Campsite was very well set out and clean and tidy. Toilets and showers were very clean and nice. The farm is a beautiful place to bring your children, my 3 daughters had a great time seeing the animals and making friends with other campers. We will definitely love to come back in the future. Thank you

The Main Campsite Zaytuna Farm
While the site was pleasant, with lush bamboo and some nice surroundings, the service and the bathrooms were a huge disappointment. We had to set up in the rain and immediately a staff member came down to tell us to move the car. They could have let us set up, get out of the rain, and then move the car. The next day another staff member came down and harangued us about the other car, and wouldn't leave our site despite us stating very clearly we felt unsafe with his refusal to move away from our tent as we tried to have breakfast. Very few other people were camping there, there was a huge amount of space, so it just appeared to be a petty power trip for him. In terms of facilities, the kitchen was ok, and there was a nice undercover area with tables, lights and power plugs. This was great. Also the gardens were nice, but it was disappointing to see so many significant weeds - like lantana and madeira vine - which will just migrate into the forest. There seemed to be no control efforts being made. Areas to walk were very limited, and the bathrooms were awful - we have stayed in lots of places with composting toilets but these just absolutely reeked. The showers were broken, hot water ran out after 60-90 seconds, and each cubical just looked filthy. It may just be the painting in the bathrooms, or corrosion issues, but we left early because of the health and staff issues. This is certainly not a site we would ever return to or recommend that others visit.
