Spirit of the Forest is one of the oldest properties in the area. Many years ago  it was an old dairy farm, but it has been through many transitions since then.... uniquely situated only a few kms. from the majestic "Grandis" tree it has an abundance of wildlife close by, wallabies come out to feed on the pasture at dusk and dawn, mighty eagles soar overhead and beautiful Arabian horses run free in the paddocks. Trevor and Maya moved here from Berry NSW 17 years ago. Trevor is an internationally acclaimed entertainer and horse whisperer and Maya is an artist, author and lecturer. Both found the property a haven from their busy schedule of performing overseas. A unique 70 acre Arabian horse property, surrounded by Myall Lakes National Park 4 kms from "The Grandis" the tallest tree in NSW and 10 kms from Bulahdelah Town also near to beautiful North Coast beaches.  There are many beautiful areas to choose from to camp, as well as a cabin. A portable 240v generator (1) is available for hire $10.00 a day, fuel included, advance booking.

Interrupted serenity
My stay at Trevor's Airbnb was overall fantastic. Trevor and his team were incredibly welcoming and accommodating, and the directions provided made finding the place a breeze. The amenities and grounds were top-notch, making for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I would highly recommend it to others. However, the one downside I experienced, particularly during the Easter long weekend in 2024, was the constant noise from nearby cars doing burnouts. From 10 am until 9 pm every day, the sound was incessant, with some cars even appearing to be as close as the next property over. Unfortunately, this noise significantly detracted from the otherwise serene atmosphere of the location. If it weren't for this persistent issue, I would enthusiastically recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking for an affordable and wonderful stay.

Cabin in middle of National Park
Lovely hosts! Perfect location!
Loved our stay! Second visit and stayed in the cabin this time. It made our stay that much more comfortable with access to the private toilet and running water. The cabin is well equipped and beds are comfortable, it's spacious enough to hide from the rain if the weather changes. The view of horses, kangaroos, forest. The chickens come for a cheeky visit as you camp. You can also pay with the whippets although watch out for their sharp paws! Our host Maya and groundkeepers Andrew and Jay where absolutely lovely to deal with - very helpful and warm people. All of our needs were taken care off. Fresh farm eggs were a huge bonus! Location is easy access to Princes Hwy, close to Bulahdelah for easy shop, The Grandis, Seal Rocks. Perfect stay for a family or solo traveller wanting to enjoy the tranquillity.

No Flies or Mozzies, Thats a winner
Trevor and Maya are just lovely people. They both came to greet us when we arrived. It was only our 3rd Hipcamp with our new van but the best yet. We set up next to the Dam/Pond/Watering hole. Just a beautiful spot. Surrounded by rainforest that can't grow any taller. The ground there was perfect and we didn't need to level the van at all. Plenty of wildlife to see at dusk and dawn as well as the horses that look larger than normal even at a distance. (I am not a horse expert obviously) It was early Autumn and fairly warm but almost no flies or mosquitoes. The flies we did get had just escaped from Jurassic Park. They didn't bother us as we were too small of a target for them. They were looking for larger-than-normal horses. The following morning after breakfast Maya and Trevor stopped by with, let's call him Declan the Whippet, A beautiful boy/dog. After just a short time we had come to the mutual conclusion that we were now friends and we should see each other again. We very much look forward to our next visit to see more of what this void in the middle of the rainforest will show us. Explore the areas outside the front gate as well as Stony Creek Road will take you on some great adventures, according to Google. We will do them in time. and also hear about the well-travelled and fascinating lives that these pair have had before deciding to invite us strangers into their lives.
