Rocky River Bush Camp is located on a large property on the banks of the Timbarra River. There is lots of wildlife which visit the property along with our resident cows. We are located 20km south of Drake Village (an old mining community). There are a number of different camping locations on the property and campers can choose where they want to set up. Some areas are flat, some rugged, some mountainous.  Your hosts live on the property so are always handy if you need help.  Please note there is no mobile reception, so it is a great way to get away from it all.  Campers are asked to remove all their rubbish on departure. Campfires are welcome - there is fallen timber around for gathering. We are pet-friendly, but please ensure your furry friends do not chase the cattle or wildlife. There is access to a toilet but no shower or drinking water so please bring your supplies. Your furry family members are welcome to holiday with you. Our river paddock is dog-fenced so your furry friend can roam off leash.  Other areas, please restrain from chasing cattle and/or wildlife.

Rocky River Bush Camp
We camped under big trees beside the river at Laurens and it was beautiful. There were only one other group of campers so we had our privacy. The river is about a 100 metres from the campsite. The water was fast flowing and crystal clear- beautiful to cool off in on a hot day. Firewood and a fireplace made camp cooking easy. Lauren greeted us and was very friendly and welcoming and directions to get there were easy to follow.

Rocky River Bush Camp
Lauren’s river campsite was well manicured and she delivered a throne with a view. Our dog loved the fenced area so he could explore and we were assured he was safe. Found some lovely swimming holes within 100m of the campsite and enjoyed the beauty of the river. Plenty of flat ground to play cricket or frisbee, great area for a larger group. Thanks for a great 3 days.

Rocky River Bush Camp
Such a beautiful remote spot 🙂 The river and nature surrounding are stunning. The camp is right by the water which my dog loved. Look out for snakes as by when walking along the river. Lovely host

Rocky River Bush Camp
We loved our time staying on this very special river. The host was great with communication and very considerate to provide a substantial pile of firewood for us when she realised we were going to be later than expected to collect our own. I would definitely recommend the host Lauren and her beautiful property as an experience of the amazing Rocky River.

Stayed by the river. A short stroll to the main river Chanel. Plenty of fallen wood to have a fire.
