Little Plain Hall grounds - a small rural hall and grounds celebrating their 100th year in 2023 and adjacent to the Ellenborough River with a number of campsites available. This open grassed area of 6 acres is 5 kms further on from the Ellenborough Falls turnoff. (PLEASE NOTE: We are not near Ellenborough village but in Elands- this is a somewhat common error when people look us up.) We are a community-run non-profit facility available to campers. All funds raised are used to improve the grounds and hall. Directions to find us: From the South -off the Pacific highway at Taree through Wingham, Follow the Brown tourist signs to Ellenborough Falls. We are approx. 5 kms from the falls turnoff. From the north- Off the Pacific Highway: Again the brown tourist signs will get you to Ellenborough Falls Port Macquarie end through Comboyne-either way requires access over narrow, dirt roads. From the Falls turnoff: continue straight ahead on Glenwarrin Road (don't turn into the falls). you will cross over 2 bridges. After the 2nd bridge, the grounds are on your right at the top of the small hill. Larger rigs are not advised. One toilet available and limited tank water - please BYO water and be water wise with the tank water at the hall. Well behaved pets are welcome. We do try to keep a limit on the number of animals on site at any one time so a quick notice to Kate if you plan to bring your furry friends, please. Hall available for hire - please send an enquiry. What an absolute cracker of a spot!
What a spot! The site was perfect, myself and the 2 boys are adventurous, and explored the creek line, and even with a few leeches jumping on us, were totally intrigued. Mere minutes down the road is a bridge and Ellenborough river, ready to enjoy, or even with some muscle, drop a kayak in to float about and explore. The campsite itself was huge, and almost perfectly flat, a vehicle could easy park in the small undulation if more tent space was needed. Flushing toilet was a small walk from the site, but that far outweighed the horrors you sometimes find in a drop loo! Kate and her hubbie even came to our rescue as we had ventured back down the road a bit and underestimated a wet track, and were begging for a rescue. Within minutes they were onto finding, and thankfully, helping us out! Where else are you going to find such great hosts, such a peaceful campsite and the trickle of a creek nearby to quietly lull you to sleep after a day of adventure? Honestly, get in and try a site out!

We spent 3 nights at Little Plains and had a lovely relaxing time. The birds were amazing and we saw some kangaroos and a possum! Communication with Kate was great and we had no trouble finding our camp site. Kate's husband met us and told us some good swimming spots which we enjoyed. The rapids is a magical spot not to be missed. We appreciated the flushing toilet and hand washing facilities. Hope we can visit again one day. Thanks for having us ☺️

Escape the daily grind
Absolutely beautiful part of the world to stay in. No reception, no neighbours just a lovely stream to fall asleep to. Site 6 was a hidden little gem with lots of privacy. Toilet was immaculate and we were just down the road to the breath taking waterfall. It is a fair drive on a windy mountain dirt road but well worth it. Thank you for having us

Mack the dog gives it a paws up.
Very quite little campsite just perfect for me. Stunning views and the waterfalls nearby is a must. I had a good night sleep. The drive is on dirt narrow roads but i like that the mist on the hill made it so special to stay there. My dog enjoyed the open space to play ball

Had a great time staying at site 5, nice and close to the river. Great for a paddle or swim. Met Oliver, one of the caretakers he was lovely.
