At the foot of the Watagan mountains, close to the Watagan 4WD tracks, picnic areas, and bike tracks. Also close to Lake Macquarie where you will find fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing etc. About a 20 - 40 min drive to beautiful beaches. Ideal for those wanting to be surrounded by birds, nature and a couple of friendly doggos. Also great for people wanting to try out their new camper, van or tent for the 1st time as we are an easy 1 hour drive north of Sydney on the M1 and close enough to shops for those forgotten items. Also we have unfenced dams, if you are camping with young children please consider carefully and let me know before booking. We have very basic bathroom facilities of 1 flushing toilet in the shed and an outdoor warm shower.

Bunyip's Wattle Grove - primitive
First time back in a while and it’s even better than I remembered. Very peaceful and camp spaces well spaced out. Doggo’s loved it even more. Definitely recommend!!

Bunyip's Under the Pine - Primitive
Fabulous off-grid escape
The stay at Bunyips was everything we’d hoped it to be. A short hour from the start of the M1 at Wahroonga, conveniently close enough to town but rural enough to feel remote. Lisa was a fantastic host, very responsive and helpful. The dogs were beautiful too, making themselves at home without being a bother. The kids (aged 4 - 11) spent hours exploring in the bush near the creek or playing ball games in the open space. Or feeding the beautiful chickens. We were expecting a primitive site and knew the toilet/outdoor shower was basic, and it was fine. But with a small few improvements it could be much better. Thanks Lisa for a great stay, we highly recommend it!

Bunyip's Top Paddock.
Perfect for an overnight stop over. Toilet and warm shower was basic, but all I really needed. Nice and quiet overnight. Loved the rooster alarm clock in the morning
