We think it's a miracle from God that we get to live in Sussex Inlet and we are very grateful for our place. We love sharing it with people and helping them reconnect with each other and with nature. Arthur and I are basically bumpkins (unsophisticated or socially awkward persons from the countryside) who love our dogs and love pottering around on our block. We started watching YouTube videos about permaculture and off grid living, in 2008 and moved here in 2017 to start our off grid journey. Our hope was to be able to make enough money to not have to go back to work. We found 2 site offices and a caravan that somebody didn't want and moved them to the site. With no running water, no electricity, no shower and no toilet, life was very interesting, but exciting too. It's amazing how grateful you become, when you have very little. My sister Ruth, asked me if she could put a caravan on our block as a holiday cabin and we agreed. Ruth asked me to go with her to go look at a van and while I was there, I found out that the Suncoast Caravan Park - Ulladulla, was closing down to become an over 55s village and any caravans left over would be destroyed. We picked 10 caravans and transported them here. We decided we were going to set them up in a semi circle so we could have family and friends here and all be together, but still have our own cabin so we could "tap out" when needed. Instead of flattening the area, we decided to work in with the contours of the land and terrace it using the tree trunks that had been left behind by developers in the past. A friend of ours named Brian and my other sister Maria both suggested we do some hosting on AirBnB, so in 2019 we welcomed our first guests and we loved it instantly. Unfortunately we had floods, bush fires, more floods and a pandemic, so we closed down from 2019 to the end of 2020, but we used the time to keep building our dream, build a garden, renovate more vans and do some tinkering with solar power. Our dear friend Noel, had many great childhood memories of visiting Green Patch as a kid and camping there with his parents. He has told us many times that our place reminds him of that happy place and we should set up a place where people can camp and build their own happy memories. So in honour of that and the great Australian Spirit, we are "giving it a go". Like all good things, we are taking it slowly, learning to listen to nature and to our guests, being resourceful, but being respectful of the fact that life is short and we have something uniquely special here. If you book with us, we are very grateful and we hope you have a wonderful time. If you don't, thank you for taking the time to read this and for the opportunity to share part of our journey.

Friendly & accommodating owners. The camping/caravan area was like an industrial area. Not scenic at all. Nothing like the photo or description. Very noisy with machinery but the owner didn't contact me after I booked to say they would be working in this area.

Family & dog loved the off-grid camp site, very private (space for approx 3-4 trailer & max 10 tent), with the next dog friendly beach under 2km away. Extremely clean, shower/portaloo with hot water available. Easy to find as just of main road
