If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
We were welcomed by Diana White Eagle upon arrival to show us the restrooms, outdoor shower, and kitchen. We were the only campers so we had those facilities to ourselves!
The tipi was plenty spacious for two people and two dogs (even with their crates).
Views were great, especially sunrises and sunsets. Stars were amazing at night.
So much better than i imagined!
Diana and Michael were wonderful hosts! This is truly an incredible place to experience. It was so much more amazing than I expected. My first morning I watched a beautiful sunrise, immediately followed by a double rainbow over the canyon that lasted an hour. The first two nights I booked the tipi, and my third night I camped in my tent. The night sky and the Milky Way were so intense you felt you could reach out and touch it (and lots of falling stars). This was defiantly more glamping style (a first) and I enjoyed the full kitchen and shower and toilet. Michael has great knowledge about the area (and stories!) and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting other campers around the kitchen and sharing food, stories and recommendations for things to do. I can’t wait until I can return!
The property is amazing and the hosts are very accommodating. We couldn't stay in the tipi because as a couple with double sleeping pad and double sleeping bag there was no way of making it work. The sleeping arrangement is very strange inside the tipi, there is a couple feet wide platform along the perimeter of the tipi where you are expected to sleep on. We weren't expecting that (look closely at the pic). I asked diana if we could put up a tent instead and she said yes,no problem. She also had a guest house that was available on the property and we decided to stay there instead.
Do it! believe me :) amazing experi
What an incredible place!! Beautiful area. Wonderful hospitality!! And just a really cool experience getting to stay in a teepee. Also, more than expected in terms of accomodations - kitchen, shower, bathroom, water, history lessons, etc.
I get why Georgia O'Keeffe decided to call this area home. Stunning. I hope to return one day :)
