The legacy of Santa Fe Tree House Camp includes rustic tree house style cabins. The original creators of the camp wanted to make a safe place for children to enjoy the outdoors. Now, these tree houses are available for family and adult reservations to relive the childlike wonder of sleeping amidst the trees.

There are 6 treehouse structures of various distance from the outdoor kitchen and bathhouse.

We provide mattresses with mattress covers, you need to bring your own sheets, blankets, pillows or sleeping bags as well as towels and toiletries. If you are traveling without these items let us know ahead of time and we may be able to offer these for a small fee.

These structures are all raised from the ground (not high up in the top of trees) with openings for windows (no glass), and nestled amid the trunks and branches of ponderosa, piñon, and juniper trees. There are no heaters or air conditioning so please bring warm clothes and bedding for your comfort.

The 3 Pegasus tree houses are closest to the outdoor kitchen with  community fridges, stove, toaster oven, microwave, propane grill, blender, coffee maker (bring your own ground coffee), plates, bowls, cooking and eating utensils.  The area has a communal fire pit and benches. These treehouses would be ideal for families and groups of friends wanting to stay close together and near the bathrooms. There is electricity here.

NOTE:  Pegasus # 2 (site # 2) has 2 hanging cots that are appropriate for smaller people who don't move too much in their sleep. There are two low frame beds beneath the hanging cots and one regular height double bed.

NOTE: Pegasus #3 (site 3) has a short ladder to climb to enter.

The 3 Tecolote tree houses are slightly further from the outdoor kitchen and bathhouse and a bit further apart from one another (than Pegasus treehouses) with the most tree cover for privacy. There is a communal, designated fire pit and stunning views of the mountains. Within a comfortable walking distance (5 minutes) from the bath house. There is no electricity at the Tecolote sites ( sites 4-5-6.

NOTE: Tecolote 3 (site #6) has a small ladder to climb to enter.

The camp is located about 20 minutes from Museum Hill, 25 minutes from Meow Wolf, Old Town Santa Fe Plaza and just 15 minutes to delicious food at Harry's Roadhouse or Cafe Fina.   Tree House Camp includes 160 acres of land bordering the US Forest Service area. There are beautiful views and easy access to Shaggy Peak, the  southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Wander our land to enjoy a 20 minute hike to a creek in the forest or climb up Shaggy Peak (about 2-7 hours round trip hiking, depending on your activity level).

NOTE: We are up a 2 mile dirt road and are not near public transportation so you will need your own vehicle, motorcycle, bike, or horse! Be aware that the roads can be snowy in early spring, late fall and winter. At those times of the year we recommend a car with front-wheel, all track or four-wheel drive and good traction tires.

The treehouse camp is such a wonderful place to stay! We stayed in Tecolote 1 and it was private, spacious, and surrounded by beautiful trees and views. The cabins are primitive - they just contain beds and mattresses which was great for us, but be sure to bring lots of bedding and layers if it is going to be cold. The grounds and all the extra amenities are great - kitchen, volleyball courts, hiking trails, communal fire pits, and clean bathrooms that are under construction but still very comfortable (we loved the hot showers!). There’s also tons of activities like archery, tomahawk throwing, rock and tree climbing, you name it! It’s close enough to Santa Fe to go enjoy the city during the day and then come back here to soak up the nature. The hosts were so kind and welcoming and we loved chatting with them and hearing their stories of how they got to be where they are. They are building a really special place here that will continue to grow and evolve. We can’t wait to come back!!

This was such a magical and beautiful place to stay! Ciana warmly greeted me just as I arrived and gave me a tour, which made me feel so welcome. The view from the treehouses is so beautiful to wake up to, as are the stars at night. It was close enough to explore Santa Fe and far enough out to feel fully immersed in the mountains and forest. I really loved it!
