Camp Rio, formerly named Camp @ Cloudcroft is located in beautiful SE New Mexico! The park is surrounded by thousands of acres of the Lincoln National Forest. The forest is laced with small villages, picturesque roads, riding, hiking, golf, and walking trails. Small valleys, surrounding mountains, racing streams, wildlife, birds, mountain glens and outdoor activities are available to Camp Rio guests. The small towns around us are Mayhill, Cloudcroft, Weed, and Pinion. These towns have scheduled activities such as arts and craft fairs, car shows, bluegrass festivals, dog shows, and Lumberjack days. Additional day trips to Alamogordo, Capitan (Smokey the Bear), Carlsbad, Las Cruces, Lincoln (Billy the Kid), Ruidoso (skiing), Sunspot (National Solar Observatory, Truth or Consequences (Hot Springs) and White Sands National Monument! Guests enjoy our upgraded free wifi to have the best of both worlds, surrounded by beautiful nature, while still being able to connect with family/friends/work. Our location is superb to use as a base camp for numerous attractions as a centralized location to have many adventures.

Worth coming back to!
I stayed in my tent at Camp Rio on my way to the eclipse, and I'll be back again very soon. Ristras (the food truck) was set up in the evening, but I didn't get it on this trip. Maybe next time. It's a beautiful quiet place to stay, with convenient amenities like wifi and climate-controlled bathrooms with flushing toilets. Campfire rings are available to rent to keep you warm at night. It was colder at camp than the weather app said it was, according to the thermometer on my motorcycle.

The shower rooms are AWESOME! Campsites are fine, but the wonderful showers made the stay!

Large, clean heated bathrooms with hot showers. It was very cold and windy so we didn’t have a chance to explore, It was a nice place to stay the night

Site was nice. Did lack a table for cooking and dishes and such. Restrooms where clean and accessible. Over all great experience.

What a cool space to explore, a must return. Opt in for breakfast, it's delicious and a great deal. Ira is a great camp host. The property has some areas to stake out your tent, but a lot of what little we explored was quite rocky and difficult to pitch up on, unless you have a free standing tent.
