Description

Situated in the grasslands of the Elkhorn Mountains, Eagle Guard Station is prime real estate in Big Sky country! The raddest part about staying here isn’t the old school wood stove or bunk bed-style sleeping, it’s the up close and personal look at the forest's elk herds—you may run into one (or 100) steps away from the front porch. You could also try a hike to nearby Crow Creek Falls for a look at the elusive Canadian lynx. Adventure-seekers will have to haul in their own water, bedding, propane, lights, and food, but the cabin is accessible by car in the summer for easy unloading. In the winter, take on the challenge of skiing, hiking, or horseback riding the last four miles to Eagle Guard—when you get here, you'll find there’s even a corral for your steeds! Pick a season and live your wildest cowboy dreams at rustically sweet Eagle Guard.
