Nestled into 80 undisturbed wooded acres in the Ozarks, Dockley Ranch provides unique getaway opportunities.  Here, you will meet free-roaming alpacas, pastured goats, chickens, and our guardian dogs.  Well-marked hiking trails lead from the house and garden through the woods, down to Columbine Falls and up through maturing oak stands.

Pull up a stool at the private Lafferty Cabin Bar along the trail to watch the sun set over the rugged Ozark hills.  This newly constructed tavern resides under the preserved roof of an historic 19th century log cabin.  Located 30 minutes from Ava, the “Treasure of the Ozarks,” and 1 hour from Springfield, Branson, and Mansfield, Dockley Ranch stands as an intentional preserve of natural beauty and peace of mind.

Halloween weekend at dockley ranch

November 3rd, 2021

My sister and I visited Dockley Ranch this weekend, which was filled with many surprises. The site itself was huge, with a table, electricity, and fire pit. While on the property, we were visited by 3 Alpaca, a tribe of goats, and a few chipmunks. There were also five adorably entertaining dogs, some of whom watched over our tent while we slept.

There was a stage for live entertainment, which we plan to come back in the summer to see. There also was a hammock park, a bar, trails, a waterfall, walk-in tent sites, cabins, and a scenic drive to the ranch. The bathrooms were very clean and uniquely built. Pictures cannot do this place justice.

Myke invited my sister and me on a Hay Ride, driving us to the church up the road with an incredible view. He told us a little about the history of their ranch and their hopes for the future. They have an incredible vision for this place!

Myke and Claire and the guests in the cabin next to us had a projector set up outside to view Halloween movies with the kids and invited us over. I wish we would have taken them up on the offer because the laughter was contagious!

Thank you, Clair and Myke (and the dogs), for making us feel welcome and safe!! It was a fantastic weekend, and we plan to bring others along in 2022.
