Rustic and wonderful
Very rustic, but relaxing and wide open space! It’s a working farm with organic gardens and lots of animals. My dog could run and play with Rebecca’s dogs! Host was an incredible woman and all I met were warm and friendly!
Nice farm and calm stay
Farm view was really nice with a lot of animals that we enjoyed to watch and a very calm environment.
We booked at last minute due to a change of itinerary so we were please to find a spot to park our van for the night with an electric hookup on top of that for our cooler.
However, I booked a place with some toilet available "Flush toilet, Pit toilet" stated in the description and the only option given to us was an old outhouse. When I asked one of the resident where the outhouse was, she was surprised that I was looking for "that". This restroom consisted of a wooden plank with a hole inside and not even a 5$ seat. Could have been fine, I am not a city guy and my wife either (we were in north Minnesota for an outfitting trip so clearly not afraid of a "pit toilet") but it was definitely not used as a toilet for month or years I guess because it was completely dry and several big bag of food for rabbit / chicken was stored inside and I had to move it all by myself to gain access.
Overall it was a nice option for our quick stop passed the disappointment of not having toilet, specially with an electric hookup as a last minute booking.
A real working farm
This is a real working farm! You’ll meet pigs chickens rabbits guinea hens sheep and more. You will be roughing it. Rebecca is a most congenial host and a very interesting person you’ll want to get to know.
Level area to park our van and access shore power. Beautiful dark night sky sitting by campfire.
Host Rebecca is very friendly and gracious. We also met several of her children and grandchildren.
This is a working family farm with chickens, pigs, sheep and other animals in nearby enclosures. Farm sounds and smells abound - we enjoyed seeing and interacting with the animals - so mot a problem for us. Also, several dogs and cats that will visit with you.
It was a very nice peaceful quiet setting. Not everyone would probably enjoy the dogs but we didn't mind them since we have dogs have our own and they played together well. Other than that nice location had everything we needed.
Incredible host, great location, very accommodating. Contact-free checkin was lovely, we were given tons of space and privacy, had access to a grill on request, and we were surrounded by cute animals. 5 minute drive from swimming spots, 10 minute drive from a good grocery / gas spot open til midnight. Would not hesitate to camp here again.
Easy going stay at eclectic farm
Lots of space to spread out in the pasture areas, although we chose to stay closer to the garage area in case we needed electrical. Our kids thought the piglets in the nearby pen were fun. Stay was contactless, as host Rebecca communicated easily via texts and was very kind. Would stay here again.
We camped up in the field which had a lovely view. There was not an established camp site and the grass was really tall. We were able to dive over the grass enough to trample it down and make a place for our tent and fire pit. The skies were clear the two night we were there, so we slept with our rain fly off to look at the stars. We had a clear view of the milky way as well! We also enjoyed the sauna. Note the the sigh was very rustic . The flush toilet was inside the house and you could not use it at night, but they did have a pit toilet as well, which was not bad. The host was friendly and helpful, Overall a good experience.
