Danny's Tent is a 10x12 canvas wall tent tucked in the woods at the far side of the pond.  The green tent covers a 3/4 inch plywood floor and the canvas is suspended by beautiful balsam logs from the forest. Inside the tent is a cozy queen size bed, as well as a small table, chairs and lamp.  We've added a wood stove and will have a stack of firewood ready for you in the tent. Additional firewood is available at the wood shed for $5/bundle or on the forest floor for free. Danny's Tent is a beautiful rustic campsite ready for an adventurous soul.  Be sure to bring sleeping bags. There are pillows but no bedding provided here.

We do want to mention that there are four unique sites here at Balsam Ridge, each one having it's own woodsy personality. For more information on our other sites check out Balsam Ridge Retreat.

We're looking forward to a new season of camping and meeting some great folks!

Our second time at Linda and Chris’s place and we loved it! They truly are good hosts and it shows how much work they put into Danny’s tent and the other tents on their property. It’s so cozy and magical you’ll keep coming back like we do.

Linda and Chris were amazing hosts! Linda gave us the grad tour of their property when we get in which was very cute with lots of fun spots to sit down and take in the beauty. Danny’s tent was great! We got to listen to the rain patter on the roof all night which is as calming!

Linda and Chris do a wonderful job and clearly love to share their space and get to know their guests personally!

Magical stay celebrating my 5-year-old's birthday. Linda and Chris graciously moved us to a bigger tent when we had an extra person join at the last minute. We had fun boating on the pond, exploring the woods, swinging on the rope swings, playing in the Lego House, and singing songs by the campfire. We even heard owls at night! We'll definitely be back, thanks for the memories!!

Danny's Tent is such a lovely getaway. The tent is cozy and there are thoughtful details everywhere you look! This site also has welcoming, beautiful outdoor spaces to spend time in too. We loved staying here and definitley recommend it. At Balsam Ridge you experience the joys of camping, while still having many cozy comforts and being close to Duluth/ Minnesota State Parks. The hosts, Linda and Chris, have done such an amazing job here and are very kind and welcoming.
