Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent in our beautiful secluded rolling hardwood forest! An off-grid property bathed in the sounds of nature. Great orv trails throughout the area. Book multiple sites for a middle of nowhere party with friends. Far enough off-grid that you can enjoy peace or get a little wild with your friends, it’s up to you!! Veteran owned and operated! Hartwick Pines State Park is only 20 miles away. The bigger the better we always say—9,672 acres of Old Growth Pines makes Hartwick Pine among the giants in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan—more for you to ‘splore! The forest was once home to a booming lumber industry. Revisit through master storytelling the tales of the “shanty boys” who turned the forest into timber land. Step into a time machine and dig into rich history from the Visitor’s Center museum that recreates the vibe of the old town, then get your socks and shoes outside! With rolling green hills and ancient groves of trees, Hartwick is a photographer’s dream. Enjoy numerous habitats to explore and hit the trails that accommodate any level of hiker or biker. Big adventure is calling. Your move. Pets are allowed. Please make sure you pick up after them.

Weigold acres
Get away from it all in this forest hideaway! This camp is currently in progress to something really amazing. They just finished clearing land for most of the camps to allow for campers to come in and enjoy this wilderness escape. Plans for the future include a musical stage, hobbit houses, and large glamping sites. We can't wait to see what this camp will be in like in a year or two! Wonderful hosts in a beautiful location, what more can you want?

Great Stay @ the Weigold's!
Weigold Acres is a beautiful, secluded property situated well off the busy highway, hosted by a lovely family. Corey and Sapphire were very accommodating and offered us (6 tent campers) every possible courtesy during our stay over Memorial Day weekend. They made sure we were alright when it started to lightly rain, and they even hung out with us on our last day to show us around the property and show us their plans for the future. And they know the area really well, so they can help you get your bearings if needed. All that to say: Corey, Sapphire, and their little Pearl are all precious! We were honored to be one of their first guests. The property is being developed more day by day and they have really big plans for the near future; but we thoroughly enjoyed the campsite under the forest canopy! Shade from the heat, amazing cover from the rain, and the tranquility of the wind in the trees literally rocks you to sleep. (and this is just one of the many sites they are working on developing on the property!) The size of their property really offers campers variety in terms of setting, too. There are spots on the property that offer good elevation for great sunsets and the lush trees on the property make campers really feel secluded. This site provided us great access to local fun, while being a reasonable distance from Sleeping Bear Dunes, and Traverse City and all of the activities that surround it. We would 100% recommend staying at Weigold Acres!
