New outhouse!! This campsite is located in the woods on the back portion of our 40 acre, 130 year old homestead. The location is remote and private, with just a short walk from the access road to the forest clearing. The path is clearly indicated. There is a pre-dug fire pit on the site. The sight is largely protected by tree canopy and is an excellent choice when there is a possibility of rain. There is a clearing out the back of the sight which is a nice spot to catch some sun, lay out wet clothes or enjoy your morning coffee.
The property boundaries are clearly marked. We are also a working organic farm, so all boundaries indicated should be adhered to, but you are welcome to explore the property. Feel free to ask about boundaries if we haven't had a chance to instruct you. There are signs and tree markings to indicate private areas and property boundaries.
We are located between the cities of Pentwater and Ludington, where there are shops, breweries, restaurants, and beautiful beaches, including Mears State Park, Pentwater (10 min) and Ludington State Park, Ludington (15 min). Lake Michigan is about 5 minutes due west, and can be accessed from many roadside areas. Please feel free to ask for recommendations!

The site was private under a canopy of trees, the State Park we visited was just minutes away as well Silver Dunes. Our hosts were welcoming and friendly, the site was on the edge of the orchard with pretty sunrises and sunsets. We picked up some free range eggs from a local neighbor, along with some apples, honey, and maple syrup purchased at a stand right down the road. Some wild turkeys came nearby to visit. Just what we were lookung to do, get outdoors and out of the city, enjoyed it very much!
I was greeted with a warm welcome and hospitality by Jason and his family. The whole area was beautiful and peaceful, and my campsite was amazing. Jason and Carey were very helpful to any questions that I had, and pointed out to many close destinations to check out. It is a great location to go with your family. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to everyone. I highly recommend going to check out the town of Ludington, and the beach.
We loved our time at Hibernian Farm! We intentionally sought out a private campsite where we would have minimal contact with other campers and this fit the bill perfectly. We were the only campers during the two nights we stayed but even if others were at the orchard campsite I believe it would still have felt very private. Because of the summer leaf canopy, we felt alone in the woods but it was a low effort walk to get to the car when we needed to get something out of it. The site had flat ground for tents, a beautiful canopy for shade, a well-defined fire bowl, and enough beauty around it to make it an unbeatable location. I highly recommend this site!
Would highly recommend this spot! Carey gave us great tips on kayaking routes and the campsite itself was in a beautiful setting and completely isolated - much nicer than your typical camping experience. Out house was also very nice
Wonderful stay in the woods!
The forest campsite was such a wonderful place to get away! The accommodations of the outhouse was wonderful as well as the communicate and support of the host was incredible! I highly recommend this nice secluded place in the woods!
Beautiful campsite and property. Very private. Our hosts were wonderful, accommodating, and welcoming! We very much recommend staying here. Within 10-15 min of supplies and the ferry
New favorite spot!!
Such a beautiful spot! Hosts Carey and Jason were super welcoming and helpful before we even arrived. It rained for about an hour during the day but the trees provide such great cover that we barely got wet. Great location just outside of the city and minutes away from local beaches and hikes. Highly recommend this stay, we will definitely be back soon!
This was by far the best camping experience I have ever had!! My son is 7 and it was his first time ever camping and I took him on a father/son guys only camping trip. All other camp grounds were fully booked so I downloaded this app and found the Hibernian farm. I’m so glad we did. It’s a perfect looking farm on about 40 acres of woods and cherry/apple trees. We were set up on an majestic camp site in the middle of the woods overlooking the fields. My son loved the adventure of it. He loved cooking his own food on the camp fire. He loved sleeping in a tent. I’m the morning right when the son comes up, you can walk out to the fields and it’s so beautiful and the trees and tall grass is covered in beautiful morning dew. It’s the closest camp ground to Lake Michigan. The owners son cuts fresh dry fire wood and delivers it right to your camp within minutes. It was an experience my son and I will never forget. You will not regret staying at the farm. I will not go anywhere else when I’m in that area! Just trust me and book it.
