We are renting this land from a gentleman who adores the land. It's about 30 acres in total, and has been in his family for several generations. It is beautiful and unique in the way that there's a pond/bird sanctuary, butts up again the North Country Trail, and is directly located across the highway from a pristine, public sand beach.

School Bus Livin' by Lake Superior!
Excellent little place to stay that is a bit out of the norm. Perfect way to add a little adventure into a trip.

School Bus Livin' by Lake Superior!
This Bus was a very cool experience. I would do it again! Although .. if I came with my husband, it would be an issue because of his height. Not sure how high the ceiling is but hubby stands at 6’2. VERY COZY. Wasn’t able to “ Hangout “ on the property, rain and just log drives to scenic areas. Although, Marquette is close by. If you want paper goods, bring your own. Paper towels etc. and there was a need for a mixing bowls for mixing salad. Jamie is really good about responding to text mess.

Viking Cabin at Dragonfly Dunes
Cute little cabin right across from lake Superior, but directions were overcomplicated and very confusing. This set the tone for our entire trip. Important things(bathroom, sauna, host lodge) were again either overcomplicated or overlooked. The layout didn't make sense and the vibe of the whole campground made me feel like I was squatting in an abandoned amusement park. The bathroom directly across from us weren't open and in order to use one we had to walk the two story outdoor staircase to the host's bathroom. Along with the sauna(which was unfortunately the entire reason we chose this location. We did not use it). While technically yes, they did provide those ammenities, it was a bit awkward to use a bathroom with someone running the vacuum right out the door. While the host was attentive prior to our check-in, they seemed to leave us hanging when it came to locating everything(they offer kayaks, but they are not on site?). We cleaned the cabin but once we arrived home we were faced with extra cleaning charges that were unsubstantiated. We were a bit disappointed overall.

Viking Cabin at Dragonfly Dunes
I enjoyed my stay and Jamie was a great host. She started a fire in the wood stove before my arrival so I walked into a nice, warm cabin. I also had a question about the post-blizzard accessibility of a nearby park. Jamie was gracious enough to look it up for me (I hardly had any service through T-Mobile) and she even recommended some places for me to visit. The wood stove did a good job of keeping things cozy. But I found out that you can't really cook on the stove because, in order to get it hot enough to cook on, you'll end up with an overheated sauna of a cabin. So I'm glad I brought my camp stove. On a day that I didn't feel like cooking, I drove out to Marquette for a hike and ordered a pizza from Vango's afterwards. In the winter, there's access to a bathroom and shower at the lodge. It was sooo nice to take a shower after a sweaty hike at Presque Isle Park.
