This place is amazing! There is plenty of space to set up tents hammocks and you can drive in. John welcomed me and showed me around the spot. This is a little slice of heaven. The sunset was unreal and I got to cuddle with his dogs! There is a picnic bench, fire pit, kitchen area, and sitting area around fire pit for cooking.
John and his wife brought me fresh pancakes and coffee in the morning!! If you want to stay anywhere this is the place. I was travelling alone as well and felt extremely safe to sleep outside, definitely is the spot to pick if your camping in the area!!!

The outhouse, clean and safe! The sunset!View from my hammock.Cranky Trapper Hideaway

John was very kind and thoughtful. He has a beautiful property, well kept with lots of shade and comfy green grass. He was very generous and helpful. Very interesting to talk to and very well mannered. I would highly recommend his hideaway!

John & Loretta were fantastic hosts. Their place is set up beautifully for drive in/tent camping. We were driving from BC to Ontario and pulled in overnight easily as it was right off the Trans Canada highway. We had access to drinking water, an outhouse, electricity, fire pit and a seating area. They offered us fresh vegetables from their garden and some of John’s famous pickles! We would stay again anytime!

The hosts are beyond amazing. Thoughtful, responsive and kind. A really cute little campsite area set up. A short drive from the transCanada made this an ideal, quiet rest stop for us. 2 adults, 1 dog and 1 rabbit in a travel trailer. We are driving across Canada, so it was nice to get a little seclusion and quiet before heading out first thing in the morning. The pup loved running around the property checking things out and our bunny was lucky enough to get some fresh alfalfa for the ride. Make sure you look at the street names and not the km markers when finding the correct turn off the transCanada.
