3.5 acres hosted by Robert G.
Our property is located in the small, apple orchard town of Alfred, Maine where the first of Maine’s Shakers settled in around 1793.
The Shakers at Alfred farmed and tended their gardens, dairy, kitchen, and shops. In time, hundreds of them called Alfred home.
Their life is valued for its simplicity, respect for nature, and prowess in art, furniture design, architecture, agriculture, music, and invention, and for its philosophy of life. The Shakers sought harmony in all things. We hope, you, too will find peace and rest from the toils of life while here.
Our site is a work-in-progress. About 40 trees were felled when we first came to our 3.5 acre land. Wood piles are scattered throughout. Hiking/snow-mobile trails are directly behind campsite. Seclusion and quietness await you with an occasional nocturnal creature breaking the silence, along with, a zillion stars twinkling away.
A wood fired hot-tub is in the making for your use, as well.
