2. Pitch your tent on a soft, flat, grassy field under a vast sky

In either case you can have a campfire, a quiet, private spot to enjoy, and we'll point you towards great food, music, and hiking in the neighborhood or in the region. We're a short drive to the Camden Hills and a little longer drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

The land is five minutes from downtown Belfast and a short drive to all of the fun that can be had in the upper Penobscot Bay and the Camden Hills. It's also on the way to Acadia National Park so a good stop on your way east.

The land has been tied in with local farming History since Belfast was founded. Today it nicely straddles the culture/nature divide by giving people a feeling of the wild on the edge of a hip small town. I've got a beautiful and broad 16 acre field where I grow garlic with the help of my community chorus and 17 acres of woods, streams, and a beaver meadow. Extra points if you see the beaver!

On busy weekends there may be one or two others camping in the field - but it's a big field and there's plenty of room so it feels private. Most days I just have one group on the property.

Amazing location literally 5 minutes from Hannaford, Reny’s, and Walgreens yet quiet and country. 10 minutes to the waterfront. We loved how close we were to what we wanted to see.

Bennett's campsite was great; a beautiful wide open field where wild turkeys roamed in the morning mist. It's incredibly close to Belfast, so if you're looking for something that feels a little more remote, but is not a long drive away from town this is a wonderful place to spend the night. Bennet was very welcoming, provided clear directions, and was incredibly prompt with his communications.

Site was amazing for star gazing. It was pretty difficult to find at night so I would suggest arriving in the day time.

Stumbling on Bennett’s Duckback Farm Camp during our trip to Maine was a beautiful stroke of luck! We arrived with our truck later in the evening and found Bennett kindly setting us up with the fire we had secured some wood for. The stars were expansive over his beautiful fields and the moon was bright. We spoke for a while around the warmth and were so taken with Bennett’s kindness and hospitality. The next morning we awoke in the peaceful field and went down to the stream to scope it out for some fly fishing. We left only to secure a second night and return to the same spot that evening! We cannot recommend this farm enough for a no-fuss, peaceful experience! Furthermore, it’s within a reasonable distance from Rockland, Camden, etc, and for an unbeatable price. We hope to return to not only snag some of Bennett’s garlic but participate in a work song workshop!

Bennet was great, super easy going and nice, gave us great recommendations on places to go while in town and gave us firewood and water. Me and my friends loved Belfast and think you will to and it isn’t super far from Acadia.
