Cloud Peak Llamas was established in 1987 and is known as one of North Americas Llama Pioneers. They continue to raise quality llamas for fiber, packing and disposition. We started as the first llama packer in the state of Wyoming and now we welcome campers to come and spend the night with us. While you are here, shop in the wool room where we carry luxurious alpaca and llama fiber and all kinds of llama gifts.
Relax and enjoy the firepit.
We are a working ranch and do not provide any hookups such as water, electricity or sewer. That would change the experience you get while staying on the ranch. RV's are welcome to use their generators. Water is available for drinking and to fill up your tank. The bathroom is closed for the season and will not open until the weather improves.
We have two dog runs available. Your dogs need a rest while traveling so feel free to let them off leash in the dog run.
We have a lot of open room so we will help you park in the pasture where you will be surrounded by the animals. We have a short dirt road leading into the ranch.
If you love animals and want a ranch experience this is a campsite for you? There is not another camping experience like this. You will love it!! Each year, we are voted one of the best campsites in the state .

Cloud Peak Llama and Alpaca Ranch offers a charming camping experience, especially for animal lovers. Guests consistently praise the friendly and welcoming hosts, Barbara and Dwayne, who make everyone feel at home. The highlight for many is the chance to interact closely with a variety of animals like llamas, donkeys, and goats, which roam freely around the camping area. However, potential visitors should be comfortable with the rustic setting, which includes animal droppings and basic facilities.
Single gal and this spot is very very safe. Toilet was clean and usable. Overall awesome stay. Only thing I would let people know is you are literally staying in the same space as the animals so you need to be comfortable with that and with everything that comes with animals to include the stuff they leave behind. I thought the whole thing was awesome and would 100% stay there again. Host is engaging and kind and I could not recommend this place more.
With the Spring Break and a couple of beautiful days I decided stay for one night to the Cloud Peak Llama and Alpaca Ranch, we arrived and we meet Dwayne and Barbara, they are really nice and helpful, great host. My daughter loved the ranch and stay around the animals, they are so cute. Definitely we going to come back again, we had a great time and we bring a home beautiful pictures and memories!
What a lovely place to stay! The hosts were kind and accommodating, and the animals were beyond adorable! We had a lovely time and would highly recommend staying here to anyone!
it was a wonderful experience. I loved meeting all the different animals.
The host were very welcoming and accommodating. The best host I’ve ever encountered.
I will definitely try to return for another stay, I will definitely tell my friends about it as well!
Read the information so you know what you’re getting into. You are parked right in the field with the llama. It’s really neat, but be sure it’s for you!
Really loved staying here! Nothing better than opening our camper door to meet a horse, donkey, or goat ready to greet us in the morning. The hosts are also super nice!
We had such a wonderful stay at the ranch !!!! The host was very friendly and helpful. The animals and the ranch were magical . We hope to return soon ! Highly recommend!
The hosts were very nice and we really enjoyed our visit with them.
There was not really a designated, level spot to park, but the area is large enough to maneuver around a bit. The animals are so precious. They all run free and some goats, donkeys, cats and horse will come right up to visit. The alpacas and llamas are curious, but keep their distance. We enjoyed our overnight stay but know this would not necessarily be for everyone.
First off the hosts are amazing !!! They greeted us as we arrived and made sure we didn’t need or want anything. In the morning he brought us coffee, set up so cute! We woke up to llamas, mini horses, and goats, most were friendly and enjoyed a couple scratches. Truly an amazing memory, if you’re reading these reviews just book your camping adventure here you won’t regret it !
Such a fun trip!!! We especially enjoyed the llama and donkey parade around our travel trailer in the morning! The hosts were fantastic - and we even got to see baby donkey and llama. A perfect stopover for our road trip on a farmstay.
Nice hosts on a cool piece of property for animal lovers. Very cool to hang with the animals that roam around freely and all seemed friendly for the most part. Not sure if tent camping is offered, but I can’t imagine it, there are animal droppings literally everywhere you step. Facilities left a lot to be desired, as well, with one portable toilet in a very small outhouse, but functional.
This was a spur of moment find and what a great one! The Llamas were so cool but there were also many other animals including mini horses, donkeys and goats. It was such an awesome experience to be amongst them on their sprawling land! I highly recommend this experience.
This was such a special experience! My friend and I tent camped out in the pasture and had such a peaceful, relaxing evening! The animals were so sweet and we really appreciated the opportunity to be around them in this setting! We even had some visitors (a baby llama) come around when we had our morning coffee!
The hosts are so kind, thoughtful, and generous with this stay. I’m not sure when my path will bring me by Casper next, but when it does, I’d love to pay them another visit!
We recently spent two separate nights at Cloud Peak Llama Ranch. While we didn't realize we'd actually be camping on part of the pasture area, the close proximity of the animals was entertaining and fun, and kept smiles on our faces. I enjoyed a wake up call from the friendly horse, who actually stuck his head in through the open trailer door to say good morning! The hosts were warm, engaged and thoughtful, while also respecting our privacy. We were charmed by the baby donkeys and llamas! The atmosphere of the ranch is quiet and peaceful, and it is clearly evident that all of the animals are lovingly cared for. If you like animals and are looking for a pleasant ranch respite, this is your place!
Great place to stay! They are the salt of the earth here and so friendly and helpful. The animals were awesome. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you for an awesome experience.
The host was very hospitable and super friendly. All of the animals were adorable and it was great to be able to interact with them. It is more of a rustic site but I enjoyed it so much and would definitely go back! We enjoyed learning the history of the farm and loved the delicious fresh coffee in the morning!
The animal’s are cute and the vista of the sunset was beautiful. I DO NOT suggest this location for anyone with a tent without additonal information. The location is a open hillside (i.e. not flat) and covered in animal feces (not sanitary). We left soon after arrival and ended up buying a hotel for the night since cute animals do not win over sanitation. This location is likely adequate for vehicles (RVS, Cars, Vans) and awareness to wear proper footwear.
We really loved tent camping here! Hosts Dwayne and Barbara were so kind and helpful. Dwayne was also very sweet and brought us coffee in the morning and we were able to buy a dozen delicious looking eggs from them. The animals were definitely the best part of this site and really made this an unforgettable experience. We got to meet the two 2 week old donkeys that were so adorable, along with a beautiful horse, goats, alpacas and more! Overall, this was an incredible stop and I would 100% recommend this to anyone looking for a quick stop in Casper.
We loved our stay at Cloud Peak! The animals were great! Our family really enjoyed the donkeys and llamas. Our hosts were so friendly and welcoming. We would stay here when passing thru again.
My daughter and had a great stay at Cloud Peak. Dwayne and Barbara are friendly and welcoming and the property is beautiful and filled with fun animals. We’d definitely go back to stay again.
Such a great stop! We got in after dark so when we woke up to donkeys nuzzling our camper and stairs and llamas/alpacas with the backdrop of the mountains, it was extra amazing! Toilet was very clean and the host was friendly and made sure we felt welcomed in the morning. 10/10 would recommend.
What a great place! We stayed our 1st night on a 9 day trip from Colorado and it was a perfect stop. The hosts were very welcoming and kind. We got to see and pet all the animals including two new baby donkeys! Had a nice fire outside with the hosts and other guests. Pretty sunsets and overall a great time. Would recommend.
Thank you for the stay!
What a unique and lovely experience. Barbara and Dwayne were the consummate hosts with the most! Helpful yet not intrusive. While we were there, 2 mini donkeys were born. A baby llama had been born 3-4 days prior to our arrival. Just lovely. Of all the possible camping spots at the property, I feel like we got the best one. We were furthest away from the main house and closest to the animals area.
