Way better than we anticipated
Wow! This place is incredible. If you like peace and quiet, beautiful rolling hills, quaint, and lovely hosting with the option of a delicious breakfast in the morning then this is the place for you. Absolutely will be back. Donna is a wonderful host and this property is just something special. Also, even if you don’t play disc golf, grab some discs and go play those courses. Beautiful landscapes galore.

Snuggalo
The Snuggalo is waiting for you!
I stayed in the Snuggalo! What a cute, unique way to stay. I brought my own air mattress but there is a sleeping pad provided so you don’t need to bring one. Love that there were llamas right outside. A short walk gets you to the bathrooms and they were private rooms each with their own shower and toilet. Very nice. There’s a porta potty right outside by the Snuggalo. The grounds are fabulous and the buildings are all so charming and full of character but also top notch craftsmanship. You can tell the family takes pride in the place and has worked hard to make it what it is today! I highly recommend a stay at Justin Trails. It will be my go-to place whenever I pass through Sparta.

Beautiful Property Great Hosts
This is a beautiful property and I had a secluded campsite - #4 I believe - that really felt like I was miles away from anyone. My hosts were warm and welcoming and went out of their way to make sure I was happy with my site. It's not too far from Rt. 90, gas, food, etc. I would definitely stay again if I were in that area!

Pure magic
This place is pure magic. We stayed at campsite 4, and felt like we had a private 200 acres to ourselves to soak in the amazing views of the driftless on the 4th of July weekend! We came to ride the Elroy Sparta trail, and this was an amazing launching spot. Cannot wait to return.

Campsite #3
I was looking to tent camp with my dog somewhere between Tomah and La Crosse, WI. I found this location to be a good geographical fit. There are plenty of well-maintained trails on the property, as well as beautiful scenery. A lot of hard work has gone into this property. This resort offers a good variety of activities and lodging. The only thing is that, upon arrival, it seemed like I got a cold reception, as though the host had more pressing matters to attend to. Suggestions for the host: Have numbered campsites maps handy for guests to take, or step outside for a moment and point them to their site (rather than pointing through windows from inside). Also, have numbered site markers. This would help to put a newbie at ease, knowing he's welcome and at the right spot. I appreciate the opportunity to have stayed the night. My dog and I had a great time exploring the trails.

Just-In-heaven
Absolutely amazing place! We stayed in a private camp site with no one in sight. Our campsite had a tracker rim for a fire ring so we could build a big fire to keep us warm on the cold fall nights. Fire wood is dry and available by the office and barn next to some cute lamas. The camp site had a picnic table, little Coleman grill, a porto potty and log benches. It was the nicest camp site Ive been to on hipcamp. We didn’t go folfing but the course is huge and it was fun watching people as the played. We spent a whole day just hiking the property. Over every hill there is a new beautiful view of the majestic driftless hills and Valleys. One day we drove 20 minutes to a class 1 trout stream and had a great day fishing. I highly recommend Justin Hills Resort. I will definitely be back.

Snuggalo
Cozy Snuggalo Disc Retreat
I arrived in the evening, around 8pm, starting off a trip to Wyoming! The snuggalo was a great choice for me due to my later arrival, and I would love to try the teepee at some point. Very clean, no bugs, and a soft, comfortable sleeping pad. Check in was easy, Donna and her staff are very friendly and accommodating. I wish I had more time on this trip to take in all that the property has to offer. Since I had to leave early, I didn't get a chance to have breakfast, play the disc golf courses, and spend time with the llamas. I will definitely come back to play the courses and explore this beautiful area with some friends.

Mowed grass camping! 👍🏼
We stayed at site 1 and it was exactly as we expected. We essentially had our own port-o to ourselves. It was far enough away not to be an eyesore but close enough to be really convenient. We have a large 10 yo pup and he could roam all around our campsite off leash without any troubles. The grass is cut low on the property so this was exactly why we choose this for our dog. It worked out great. There was a second camp site about 200 feet up the valley from us so while there is another site nearby it still felt quite private. We went over Labor Day weekend and had shade from trees most of the day. Some reviews tell you to watch out for disc golfers. True but we enjoyed sporadically saying hi to those that came past our camp.

Wonderful time!
We had the loveliest stay at Justin Trails Resort. We drove in super late and our host Donna was able to give us good instructions on where we could set up that first night. In the morning, she greeted us with a delicious breakfast in the Lodge and gave us directions to our actual campsite. Our campsite, which was shaded and overlooking rolling grassy hills, was pretty big and spaced away from other campsites. It was equipped with a fire pit and picnic table. We had our own porto-potty (very clean) situation but there are also clean flushing bathrooms in the Barn along with hot showers. Dawn showed us how to feed the llamas, Dusty and Rusty. She gave us a history and tour of the property. It was so nice of her to take the time to do that!

Nice Area, Poor Customer Experience
I wish we could say we had a better experience at Justin Acres then we did. The property is very pretty and if you're in to disc golf you'll have plenty to do, but the experience with the owners was very disappointing. Upon arrival I went in to the single story green building and spoke with Donna, who seemed to be a little preoccupied. I received a brief and unclear explanation of where our site was as she pointed to vague unmarked sections of a map (something other couples we spoke to noted about their stay as well) and she noted it would be the very last site in the valley after the white building. She was also quick to add that "your tiny car probably won't get out there. If you get stuck it's $200 to be pulled out". This would be very helpful to note what sites are easily accessible by car and which are not prior to guests booking. She then said I was good to go, however I never received any map of the property (as was noted), explanation of any of the disc golf course/rentals, or description of where to access the showers. She did offer us the first floor of the barn in case the weather gets bad, which was nice. We set out to find campsite #3 and did manage to make our way to the very last campsite after the white building (as explained), which as it turns out was actually the wrong campsite. Our confusion came as campsite 3 clearly has a sign noting it as campsite 2 directly by the site, and is actually the 5th campsite you can see driving in to the property. Only 2 campsites are marked with numbers, furthering the confusion. We only found out that we were in the wrong spot because the next morning we decided to check if we were in fact in the right spot and ask about disc golf rentals. Donna was rude and impatient with my girlfriend who had gone inside to ask if we were in the correct spot. Donna responded with "Why is there something wrong with your spot?" We said no, just want to make sure we're in the right place. Donna said "Yeah well I have a lot of campers so if there isn't something wrong with it you can just stay there." Blunt, rude, and unprofessional. After my girlfriend explained where we were she noted that we were in fact in the wrong spot and to hold on because she just told another couple to go there and went outside to let them know. As she went outside I (who stayed out with our dog) heard Donna telling the other camper that "These campers just decided to take your campsite and squat there instead. They're supposed to be in 3 but they just took yours and squatted". Yes Donna that WAS me standing outside in clear earshot. Maybe check your surroundings before bad mouthing your guests? Or better yet, politely note the mistake and we gladly would have relocated as site 3 was much better than the steep hill we were on in the first place. Then Donna came back in and said "Just stay in your current spot. Breakfast is $15." effectively dismissing her. Safe to say she didn't bother asking about disc golf. We actually spoke with the other couple who noted they were in the wrong spot the night before as well because their directions were poorly given and the property is poorly marked. At least they were nice people and completely understanding. Another thing to note is that the campsites are quite literally on the disc golf course. As in, your tents wont be far from the holes in most cases. At one point the tree our hammock was in was struck by an errant throw while we were in it and there were people consistently coming through our site. So I you'll need to keep a constant lookout for that. Finally, staff was also not wearing face masks indoors when speaking to us. This is more of a strike against Hipcamp as I'd expect better from a site that clearly says this property is up to date on COVID precautions on the site.

Peaceful and refreshing
If you are looking for a welcoming and quiet environment, then Justin Trails is probably for you. Falling asleep to chirping crickets and hooting owls rather than traffic or train noise that you hear at many campgrounds is truly refrshing. Waking up to chirping birds was equally delightful. The facilities were very clean and well kept and Donna prepares a wonderful breskfast buffet for an extra charge. I will be staying at JT on my way back from out west.

This was a truly lovely and accommodating camp site rich with family history. It is a well-established family farm that has been converted into what I might describe as farming tourism or a farm camp business. Multiple private sites are available as well as one that is highly accessible to the shower and other facilities (this is where we stayed). This does seem to be a slightly more expensive option than others in the area, but this was a high quality set up with many amenities, activities, and added comforts available to justify the added expense.

First time out but back again
This was the first of many things: first hip camp reservation, solo camping, tent camping in a motorcycle. I was pleasantly surprised to recognize the that I had been to a wedding here about 5 years ago. The sun set was amazing and the privacy of the campsite made me feel like I was totally secluded. The facilities were spotless. I will definitely get back.

I was greeted right away when I got there. The host was honest that the spot I picked had a flooded creek I would have to cross and wasn't sure my vehicle would make it. I was offered another spot closer to the house and buildings. I'm used to backpacking and camping in the forest, so camping in a field was different for me. The fields, gardens and scenery were beautiful and very well cared for. It was different having people walking around playing Frisbee golf and picking berries near by. Our favorite part was the trails. Very well maintained mowed paths through the farm land and forest were wonderful. My dog enjoyed being off leash and we didn't see anybody else on the trails.

Beautiful property
We reserved campsite 4 but were stuck at a campsite right next to the barn/property entrance without any real explanation. The host seemed confused about our arrival. Were awoken early on Sunday morning to a couple tending the garden next to our camp spot. Having a barn available as backup spot for AC, bathroom, and shower was a nice surprise. Wood advertised as free but you have to bust it up yourself, so I'd advise bringing a sturdy ax. They also have split wood for $5 a bucket. Gorgeous property. If you reserve through HipCamp I'd advise printing out the property map and circling your reserved spot to help out the host.

Justin Trails Resort is in an absolutely stunning setting. There are gorgeous walking trails all over the property. The site itself had everything we needed: a wonderful fire pit with stumps to sit on, a picnic table, and an ideal place for our tent. We were also tucked back in a relatively private setting. However, we didn't fully understand that the resort is more a of a multi-purpose recreational area — there were guests playing disc golf and coming in for various services. Expect that you will interact with other folks in your stay here. We kept to ourselves mostly and absolutely loved our site and appreciated the amenities more than anything. Hot showers after days of camping was a serious treat!

Beautiful area, right in the heart of the Driftless region! Nice property with friendly hosts, but our stay was interrupted by boisterous disc golfers (playing late into the night). If you're okay with having the course right next to your campsite, this is a great place for you! Just would have preferred a more secluded area away from the course. Directions were a bit confusing with the location of the campsites. Thankful for the nice facilities to use in the renovated barn! The free firewood would have have been a great amenity, however what was available was not sheltered from rain, so plan on having to find another alternative if it gets wet.
