WE PREFER GROUPS Please. We are a grain and sheep farming property situated on the Mortlock River about one and a half hours from Perth. Great for weekend campers or people needing a spur-of-the-moment break. Dogs welcome. We have many different 'sites' for people depending on a) if they have their own toileting requirements, b) number / age of children and adults, and c) size and style of camping. A septic toilet is available - please advice when booking if you need Toilet access. Those who are self-sufficent have more options re remote sites. Each site can have a campfire (in season) but - BYO WOOD please. We do not want people disturbing or taking fallen timber and river debris because of the Eco-environment of this location. This includes the children ripping off branches and dragging timber. Please take all rubbish with you. Pets are OK - please pick up after your dogs - other campers use these sites. Consider a leash around the camping area. Your dogs can run free while you are walking - but be conscious of any nearby stock. We aim to make your camping experience a special time away, just you and the she-oaks, starry nights and occasional wildlife. Please indicate intended arrival time and if you need toilet access.

Winter Camping
Absolutely loved the stay and the communication with Cath and Joe and their accomodation of us. Perfect setting for just chilling out and relaxing with a great campfire, some wine, bit of a stroll and the serenity. Both were very receptive, kept us up to date with our arrival and getting us to our site. Their beautiful dog Boo was a bonus. Nice and close to Perth for a quick weekend getaway.

We absolutely loveddd our stay, Cathie and Joe are great hosts. Highly recommend for families with dogs, they indeed are the ones having the most fun, the space is great and stargazing at night was my favourite thing to do. We also went to explore around and we found a place called northam that has an amazing bakery. Can’t wait to go back.

Nice to get away from the hustle and bustle BUT avoid the offer of a lamb on the spit.

Tranquil peaceful stay
**Hipcamp Review: Trapwell Farm, WA** We had an amazing few nights under the stars at Trapwell Farm. The campfire added a cozy touch to our evenings, and we loved that we could bring our dog along for the adventure. Our site was perfectly situated next to the river, offering a serene and beautiful setting. While there were groups on either side, they were far enough away to ensure our privacy and a peaceful stay. The hosts were very particular about their conditions and arrival instructions, but we now understand that it's completely necessary and respect their approach. They were great hosts, ensuring everything ran smoothly. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Trapwell Farm and would highly recommend it to others seeking a tranquil and enjoyable camping experience.
