Tucked away in the peaceful countryside of Western Australia, The Cowalla Palace offers a unique blend of history, open space, and rural charm. Once part of a thriving market garden, the property still carries echoes of its past, with remnants of old irrigation systems, mature trees, and a striking two-storey homestead that stands as a landmark of the land’s rich heritage. Set on expansive natural terrain, guests can choose from a range of scenic camping spots—whether along elevated ridges dotted with native wandoo or in quieter, sheltered areas among York gums. The landscape is alive with wildlife, including grazing wallabies and an abundance of birdlife, creating a truly immersive nature experience. Ideal for self-contained campers and 4WD access for camping, the site offers a peaceful escape from busy life, where wide-open skies, fresh air, and complete tranquility take centre stage. At night, the lack of light pollution reveals a stunning canopy of stars, making it a perfect spot for stargazing and unwinding by the fire. Whether you’re passing through for work, exploring the region, or seeking a quiet retreat in nature, The Manlee Palace provides a simple, rugged, and memorable camping experience surrounded by authentic Australian bushland. On a flow line within a banksia haven, the figs and prickly pear have come to rest. Travelling a minimum of 3 Km from the old homestead, the watering hole has evidence of an old outstation with a water hole, maybe even a windmill. Nature has stolen the setting back, leaving a cosy spot with shade and firewood.
