Lewana is a historic ex-forestry workers' estate located on the Blackwood River and Tourist Route 251 between Balingup and Nannup. The 100-acre property is situated amongst state and pine forests, and the parkland setting features over 50 different tree varieties, creating a beautiful place to stay at any time of year. Lewana is the ideal base to explore the picturesque region of Balingup and the surrounding areas, including Donnybrook, Nannup, and Bridgetown. Surrounded by orchards and award-winning wineries, there’s plenty to enjoy during your stay. Experience nature by walking part of the Bibbulmun Track, cycling a section of the Mundi Bibbi Track, or kayaking on the Blackwood River from historic Wrights Bridge. Please Note: No campfires between 1st Nov and 10th May, subject to Shire ruling. Dog-friendly, strictly by prior arrangement only. Shower available adjacent to the old barn. Communal fire pit & gas BBQ. No generators or trail bikes allowed. Coffee Cart open when guests are staying with us.

Lewana is a historic ex forestry workers estate located on the Blackwood River and Tourist Route 251 between Balingup and Nannup. The 100 acre property is situated amongst state and pine forest and the parkland setting has over 50 different trees varieties creating a beautiful place to stay at any time of year. Located towards the bottom of the Lewana Valley, Base Camp offers majestic views of the wide open landscape above and the brook and ponds below.  The view of the ridge line climbing to over 300m elevation makes you want to climb up to the top to experience the views over the Blackwood. The open and exposed level site is most suitable for self-contained camp set ups with the ablution facilities located 250m away by the old barn.  The campground is not shaded which is perfect for solar panels however an awning of something to provide shade would be needed in summer months.  Access is via a sloping gravel track with turning space adjacent to the campground, which most suitable for 4WD towing vehicles or 2WD tent set ups. Conventional caravans and tents can be used in summer. Access from the gravel road is via a grassed level track, however parts of the site are on a slight slope.  Lewana is the ideal place to base yourself to enjoy the picturesque region of Balingup and the surrounding areas including Donnybrook, Nannup and Bridgetown. Surrounded by orchards and award-winning wineries there is plenty to do during your stay. Experience nature by walking part of the Bibbulmun Track or cycle a section of the Mundi Bibbi Track, you can even kayak on the Blackwood River from historic Wrights Bridge. Running Brook comprises of two secluded spaces, which when combined are suitable for up to two camp set ups.  The campgrounds are located in the forest with the elevated site overlooking the dam.   The Brook flows past the site during winter months filling the dam below. The site is located away from the other campsites, heritage listed cottages and c. 250m from the ablution block and old barn.  The campground is suited to self-contained caravans or trailer tents with their own restroom facilities which must be provided by the camper. Lewana is the ideal place to base yourself to enjoy the picturesque region of Balingup and the surrounding areas including Donnybrook, Nannup and Bridgetown. Surrounded by orchards and award-winning wineries there is plenty to do during your stay. Nestled in the trees by a creek that flows from the dam in winter, Hidden Creek is most suitable for self-contained camper trailers or off-road caravans in wetter months.  Conventional caravans can be used in summer. Access from the gravel road is via a grassed level track, however parts of the site are on a slight slope.  It is located away from the other campsites and timber cottages at Lewana. The ablution block is c. 170m from the campground by the old barn.  Lewana is the ideal place to base yourself to enjoy the picturesque region of Balingup and the surrounding areas including Donnybrook, Nannup and Bridgetown. Surrounded by orchards and award-winning wineries there is plenty to do during your stay. Experience nature by walking part of the Bibbulmun Track or cycle a section of the Mundi Bibbi Track, you can even kayak on the Blackwood River from historic Wrights Bridge. I had a nice flat spot for my campervan amongst the trees, overlooking the dam, dogs welcome and plenty of birds and roos around.

Beautiful location , the peace and quiet was perfect , tall trees to keep the bite of the sun at bay , the wind minimal , the facilities where outstanding , a well built ablution block with, super clean , hot showers , The communal shed looks stunning at night , a natural wood inspired set up with heaps of seating , lighting and close enough to walk to , far enough to not hear the fun and be disturbed on your site . The lady on the desk was very polite and welcoming , dogs are welcome on site , just keep them on leads/ tethered as there’s a few Roos and ducks that hang around the dam. It’s a short trip from balingup , so if a tavern meal and pint is on the cards….🍻 Myself partner and two dogs are looking forward to coming back here for a much longer stay ! Thank you for a beautiful weekend!

Thank you for an amazing stay! An absolutely beautiful place to camp, the kids and I had the best time. From walks, swimming and meeting the animals. Wonderful grounds and so peaceful.

Fantastic spot and lovely owners! The dam is just gorgeous and perfect for a swim on a hot day - the dogs and my husband loved it. We had two caravans on running brook site one. The site requires levelling, but there is a good mix of sun and shade. There is a flushing toilet and hot shower a short walk from the site. Closest dump point is Nannup, a 25 min drive (very pretty!). The farm is between Balingup and Nannup with lots to see and do.

The area we stayed at was very nice and peaceful. Great vibe as well and Errol and Nola were very nice and helpful. I would recommend this as it is only a couple of hours out of mandurah. Also has a shower that is very hot with great pressure and a toilet. There is also a outdoor kitchen and eating area. Great place for a nice get away.

Beautiful campsite with the loveliest hosts absolutely worth every penny. The ducklings and alpacas were a highlight, along with the emus wandering freely around the site. We were also lucky enough to spot a few kangaroos. The cute little shop run by Errol and Nola was a lovely touch. Overall, we truly loved our stay; it was incredibly relaxing after six days of a long road trip. We’ll definitely be coming back! 🙌🏼

Super amazing place! Almost looks a bit like Switzerland with the cute little cottages the hills and the lake. I will definitely be coming back, I also love the chickens, ducks and alpacas!

We picked base camp to stay at while at on the property, great spot, close to bathroom and sink area. Loved being greeted by the dogs Winnie, Billie and pumba, we also had a great time watching g the kangaroos go past . Swimming in the dam was great fun being greeted by geese We thank the host for helping us with tent poles as ours went for a walk, we eventually got a new tent ! We will definitely be back

This is such a great location to explore interesting towns for day trips if you like food and farm stalls. The morning coffee and Other offerings at the little shop onsite is such a treat the camp kitchen was awesome especially if you are off grid and even though we didn’t use the dam it was picturesque. We did a nearby float in a river on Xmas day which was glorious. We have a caravan which could easily go on any site listed. However for our booking ‘running brook’ We did need to use levellers on one side. If you are after more privacy or level campsite the other two are better which we wish the description mentioned more - hidden river is the one you might want to book for privacy . I was disappointed about the leading pic on all listings as it can be misleading as this is not on the property at the time we visited. Also the directions on the current listing are very confusing because the sites are situated at the Lewana cottages which is well Sign posted.

It was such a lovely property. Lovely couple, friendly dogs! My daughter took a special shine to Pumba aka Lucy … loves to fetch sticks. The alpacas and free range birds, emus and kangaroos are a plenty. Peaceful, walks around the dam and property. Some great history too. A stunning fire pit area, dance floor and barn area for weddings would be gorgeous. Only bad thing- maybe pack insect repellent as the flies were friendly this time of year! Really nice to be able to order a good coffee in the morning. Would love to stay again.

The campsite gives you a remote and tranquil feeling while providing a very clean and convenient toilet block within walking distance with hot shower. Only 4 sites are available in the entire area, and each of them are very separated, so you can enjoy your own space and won't get disturbed. There is also a dam where you can swim during summer. Highly recommend!

Lewana is definitely worth a visit, a very large property to be explored. I loved the Hidden Creek camping spot. Very private and beautiful trees. Lots of space for your tent or camper. At night you will hear many frogs, its nice to hear them before falling asleep. I can't wait to go back but for a couple of nights, to relax by the fire. Thank you
