At Hill River Farm, you'll find a peaceful retreat nestled on the banks of the Chapman River (though the river is not visible from the campsite), surrounded by gum trees and lawn, accompanied by the calls of kookaburras and other local wildlife. In winter, horses sometimes graze freely in the paddocks, and you feel the peace and quiet of a rural property. We offer potable water and a pristine natural setting, but we kindly ask that you bring everything you'll need to remain self-sufficient, however we now have a portaloo available for use. Located just 15 minutes from Geraldton and its beautiful beaches, Hill River Farm is far enough away to immerse yourself in nature’s tranquility and safety and security that being rural entails. Please note there is no dump point and please take all waste/rubbish with you when you go.  Plenty of room to run, walk (beware the prickles though- bring shoes) and ride your bike, pull out the binoculars, and pat the horses (season permitting) Dogs are permitted but please keep them with you at all times. We are situated only five minutes from the closest store for milk, bread, beer etc and 10/15 minutes from the city of Geraldton and beaches. Firewood for sale on site.

Once you negotiate your way down the embankment from the main homestead you can choose a tranquil spot under the shade of the gums on your own patch of green lawn (watered) in which to park your vehicles/vans. We had a fantastic stay at Hill River Farm. We had plenty of space and privacy and the setting was really peaceful. The grounds and toilet are kept immaculate and Anita has been a fantastic host! This is a great spot to base yourself if you’re visiting Geraldton but want some serenity. Our dog travelled with us and there was lots of room for him to play.

Fabulous stay! Would come back in a heartbeat! Anita is such a helpful, friendly host. She has a beautiful, well kept farm and the paddock is lovely with grass and plenty of shady tree's. Heaps of space for the kids and a great base to hangout whilst exploring and restocking in Geraldton.

I had an amazing two-night stay at Hill River Farm. Anita was a wonderful and welcoming host — friendly, helpful, and made sure everything was perfect for our visit. The campsite was peaceful, clean, and beautifully maintained. The horses were a lovely addition and gave the place such a relaxing country feel. You can really tell how much care and effort Anita puts into this property. Highly recommend this spot for anyone who wants a quiet and refreshing break surrounded by nature. Great spot just out of town. Felt safe and loads of room to spread out even when lots of campers parked up. Great alternative if you’re not wanting to stay in caravan parks in town.

Perfect place to pull up for a few days and unwind. Close to town but far enough out to enjoy the peace and quiet. Cleanest portaloo I've ever seen. Great hosts. Kids didn't want to leave.

Really enjoyed this little site. Very quiet and picturesque. No shower but there is a toilet which was always really clean. It’s about 20 minutes from the town shops and restaurants/take aways.

Lovely green camping area and a nice quiet place to relax. Only 11 klms from Geraldton. Some fire pits and wood available also Portaloo available. Would definitely recommend this farm stay.

The portaloo was actually great. The site is nice for a place to stay overnight on your way to somewhere. There were lots of mozzies when we went end of September so take repellents but otherwise it’s a really relaxing, easy place to stay. Drove into the farm, to get to the campsite you drive past the playground and house and take the gate past the barn/shed. Drive down the hill on the gravel track and pick any spot to pitch up.

An excellent farm stay for those wanting an off-grid experience, open areas and lovely grass sites. Anita is a wonderful host and Jenny was very welcoming. Kids came round to make sure we had enough fire wood for the supplied fire pits. Single portaloo was available for those not fully self sufficient.

Peaceful amongst a serine environment. Beautiful cared for property. Host family are great especially the younger generation. Toilets always clean and plenty of water and fire pits. Just loved it will be back next year.

We spent a lovely night camping on this beautifully kept property in pleasant surroundings . One of the best "farm" Hipcamps we've been to that doesn't "feel" like a farm ! This has to be one of the tidiest and well kept farms I have ever come across - Hipcamp or not. The owners have clearly given the place a lot of thought and effort to provide a comfortable , relaxing environment - flat sites , mowed lawn , water supply , plenty of trees and more than enough privacy . Very impressed ! Ideal for any kind of camping, from swags to rooftop tents to trailers and caravans - all will find a great spot here easily :) Soon after arriving , we were even approached by two very polite and conscientious young boys offering us firewood for the night ... thought this was a lovely touch! The only small disappointment (never a dealbreaker , just wasn't aware before we booked ) , is that the property is both directly under the flight path of the nearby Geraldton airport , as well as near a fairly major road . So, you can expect some road noise from time to time , as well as the occasional sound of a small jet or turboprop landing (not a very busy airport thankfully!) So, not perfectly "peaceful" , but all the other positive attributes more than make up for it , and really didn't bother us too much. It's just worth noting so you are aware. We loved our stay and would happily go back for more nights and equally happy to recommend for others !

I came to Hill River Farm for 3 nights, stayed for 9, great location, far enought out of town, but close enough. Plenty of flat grassed areas to camp up, clean portaloo on site, fire pits, would defenetly recomend for off grid camping

Loved our stay here! Huge grassy sites and the kids loved the horses, we all got to have a ride which was amazing! The hosts were so lovely and the property was clean, tidy and well maintained! Has bore water if needed (we didn't drink but used for washing) Would absolutely recommend Thanks so much for having us Anita xx

Parking options and spaces were good and it was nice and quiet. Easy acccess to Geraldton. Track down the camp access road was steep but no problem. Making it as smooth as possible might make it less scary for inexperienced caravaners.
