We invite you to experience the serene and simple beauty of our traditional Mongolian Yurt, located on Vashon Island, WA. Vashon is a 20-minute ferry ride from West Seattle, or a 10-minue ferry from Tacoma, WA or the Kitsa[p Peninsula. Our home is located on a 2.5 acre forested property. There are great hiking trails nearby, some with beach access, and off-leash dog areas. The yurt is beautifully painted in the traditional Mongolian style. It's warm and cozy in cold weather, and in dry weather the top is uncovered giving you views of the trees and stars above. There's an electric fireplace for warmth and ambiance, plus a stove-top cooking facility and refrigerator. Sun dapples through to the deck and provides a beautiful way to greet the day, or evening. Our large two-story house on the property gives guests access to showers, and oven if you desire more extensive cooking facilities; laundry is also available in the house. We have chickens, a dog and a cat. We gladly share eggs when the hens are laying. Learn more about this land: Our beautiful 16-foot Mongolian yurt offers serene privacy and many comforts. It is tucked in our 2.5 acre forest of cedars, firs and ferns and the deck is a wonderful place to drink your morning coffee or tea. The yurt is well-equipped with a cook stove-top, small refrigerator, queen-sized futon bed, and an electric fireplace for heat and ambiance. A small couch-bed accommodates an additional person or child. There's a compost toilet on site, and showers and laundry are available in the main house.

Mary’s yurt was a great place to stay for a weekend wedding at Camp Sealth. The bed was comfortable, space was cozy, and yurt was stocked with everything we needed. We were able to coordinate with Mary a time for us to use the shower in her home to get ready for the wedding. We loved that we could bring our dog to join us (whereas he would not have been allowed in the cabins if we stayed at the camp). Overall, it was a very convenient and comfortable place to stay.

Cozy beautiful yurt
Mary was a wonderful and accommodating host for my last-minute stay in her beautiful yurt. Everything was lovely - quiet setting, warm yurt, comfortable bed and no issues. I loved it and hope to come back for a longer visit in the future!!

The yurt was well stocked and so cute! The driving directions were clear. Mary was very communicative and kept the property clean. It has an a composting toilet in an outhouse on the backside of the yurt which was pleasantly cleaner than I expected. The bed was a futon so not the highest standard, but not bad either. Overall, I would love to stay there again!
