Camping with Bambi
Beautiful small farm with gracious hosts. We were in and out pretty quick with a one night stay, but our girls got to watch a couple of doe eat dinner in the garden, cows roaming the fields next door and we had a great breakfast in Cathlamet. Thank you for sharing your space with our family!

The directions to the farm we really clear. And the site looks very well taken care of. A great place to stop over for the night. The facilities were great. If you have a chance to try the shower, I would definitely recommend.

This spot honestly exceeded my expectations! It was so peaceful, awesome wildlife at sunset, hot showers and clean compostable toilet. It’s an open breezy spot and you can put your tent in the shade or sun. Awesome host as well, thank you!

Low-impact, rustic farm camping!
Slow Boat Farm provides a beautiful setting for low-impact camping. Brad and Lisa are kind people and great hosts. Four of us met there to have an extra day on Puget Island ahead of a kayaking retreat. Brad met us on arrival and showed us around. We had our pick of 4 acres of mowed field to find the perfect locations for our tents. We each found nice shaded nooks among the few trees on the property; greatly appreciated in the August heat. As a bonus, we could hang our hammocks using the trees! Those made for good napping spots. We were glad to have brought camping chairs and a table. The composing toilet was simple, non-smelly, and totally workable for our varying-sized rear ends. The hot shower in the rustic wood stall was rewarding after a long day. We launched our own kayaks into Bernie Slough, which is very convenient for a hand-carry launch. Just check tides before you launch. We loved hearing the coyotes and cows in the night. If rustic, low-impact, farm-based camping is your jam, Slow Boat is a great spot in the spectacular Lower Columbia. As to kayaking, we had an outstanding experience with Columbia River Kayaking (CRK), located in nearby Skamokowa. Highly recommend their tours and classes. Lisa and Brad have a wonderful relationship with CRK; it feels like a big, loving family.

PNW Quiet Gem with Welcoming Hosts
Gorgeous stay with Brad and Lisa! Fun, little ferry ride on the Westport Ferry to Puget Island with easy directions to their place. They welcomed us when we arrived and gave us a quick overview of the facilities. We were so grateful to have a hot shower! 🚿🧼And I got to buy some home grown onions and garlic. 🧄They have a huge, flat grassy area to set up on. They are surrounded by fields and it is incredibly quiet (aside from the occasional moo from the cows next door). We had a beautiful sunset to enjoy and slept peacefully. 🚴♂️ We biked around the island in the morning; an easy, flat, paved, low traffic ride with lots of farm fields, cars sprouting blackberries and the occasional farm cat. Definitely underpriced for the great experience they offer. Highly recommend if you’re looking for an off the beaten path stay in the PNW.

We had such a lovely, private stay here! The drive out was absolutely breathtaking, and the land we tented on was sheltered by trees and perfectly level. If we're ever out in this area again, we will 100% stay here!!

My family and I are really happy we stayed at Lisa and Brad's farm. It was lovely being surrounded by hazy mountains and picturesque green fields. The hot shower was a nice amenity to have after having been on the road for a few days. I think the best part of our stay was Lisa's hospitality and communication - we felt very welcome!

Best site ever!
Only had the chance to meet Lisa, what an awesome host. Very friendly and welcoming, and helpful getting us to the site. The site itself is incredible. Beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, complete privacy, very well maintained, and clean. We have a camper van, but the level, soft grass I imagine would be great for a tent. The shower and bathroom setup is truly one of kind. Hot water in a rustic outdoor shower that waters the plants around it, and a bathroom that composts all waste. It’s put together really well.
Great market nearby with good selections, and a restaurant that served a great breakfast.
We came to the island by ferry from Westport and had a nice view of Mt St Helen’s and a nesting family of bald eagles. It was slightly off track for our trip but so worth it. If we do this trip again, we will definitely plan around staying here since we wish we could have enjoyed it longer.

We loved camping at this farm, there were mountain views in the distance and a scenic field all around. The hosts were great and although we didn’t get a chance to use it ourselves there was even a hot shower!

This was an EXCELLENT Hipcamp location - giving true spirit to camping outdoors off the beaten path and a quiet overnite stay with mountain views at sunset. Enjoy a morning walk-about thru Brad and Lisa's gardens.
The compost outhouse and outdoor shower are a definite plus!

Wow What An Expirence!
I absolutely loved this camp site! It was definitely an outdoor experience! We walked to the beach from here. We saw cows, deer, horses etc. Lots of beautiful scenery and lots of camping room! They have a huge land for camping. I loved the huge fire pit/outdoor bathroom and shower! Brad & Lisa were excellent hosts! We definitely do it again! Thank you for opening your site up to us! We would definitely do it again.

Brad & Lisa have a really nice setup here for campers, especially as we were the only ones. The outdoor kitchen & shower were nicely done but we hope to get back there to use them more in warmer weather! Puget Island was also a great experience as hadn’t ever been there altho living many years in Seattle.

Unbelievably lush and beautiful lawn (from a Californian) perfect for tent or van. Rustic kitchen and bathroom setup worked great for us. We loved the sunset, complete with whooping crane flocks passing right overhead!

Slow Boat Farms Rocks!
Brad and Lisa have a gorgeous property with tons of amenities and gorgeous views. There are deer, cows, osprey and otters in the river when kayaking. Picturesque sunsets and plenty of apples and plums for the picking.
Lisa and Brad are great hosts and wonderful people.

Lovely place to be
This is a lovely farm. It is a wide open field that is great to park a pop up trailer or a tent. There are lots of deer and birds all around. They have a great composting toilet and an outdoor shower. The hosts are helpful and friendly. Make sure to ask about the apples-so delicious. It is a perfect spot if you are kayaking.

Slow Boat Farm
We had an outstanding time camping at Slow Boat Farm, and are already plotting our return. Kyleen and Sid are welcoming and warm, and Gaston -- farm dog extraordinaire -- captured our hearts. The meadow site is quiet with views of farmland and the bluffs across the river. It's easy to launch a kayak and explore the slough. We also spent a day touring the local wildlife refuge with Columbia River Kayaking, which I highly recommend as well. Thank you for a great stay!

Slow Boat Farm
Beautiful Spot
We had a wonderful 3 night stay here. The farm and surrounding area are beautiful and very quiet. We fell asleep to the sound of frogs and woke to the birds - it was lovely. We had a shower with hot water and a toilet available during our stay which were great. We were the only hipcampers at this site so we had lots of privacy and space to spread out. We would certainly stay here again!
