Welcome Campers Before we list all the awesome things to do we want to ask that everyone read through all the information such as rules and safety, etc. Also, Google maps frequently instructs to turn on Raleigh Road, Please Don't. Instead pleasee Kreaman Road is a little further down Camp Hayden on the right at the bottom of the hill, Please drive slow down Kreaman. Now for the good stuff!! We are located on the southern side at the base of Striped Peak, surrounded by Douglas Fir, Cedar, Alder, and Maple trees. Salt Creek Recreation Area is a short distance from the campsite with access to Crescent Beach and Striped Peak Trail leading to a secret beach. Hurricane Ridge, Crescent Lake, Sol Duc River and Olympic Hot Springs, Marymere Falls, The Olympic Discovery Trail, Olympic National Forest and so much more are located at reasonable distances. There is so much to do you might have a hard time choosing after looking at all the possibilities.

Peaks Edge Teepee
Great teepe site with nice firepit
So site 1 to 4 are sort of shared with a shared camp site. Site 5 with Teepee has good privacy. Camp site had a great fire pit.

Fantastic family trip
We loved staying on Drake’s land. We are a family of four. My husband and I and our 11-year-old boy/ girl twins. It was the perfect place for a weekend camping trip. We lucked out with the weather so we got beautiful stars that were visible from our tent in site number 2! Drake was a great host. He was there when we arrived and then left shortly after. Maybe he was just waiting for us to get there to see if we needed anything. That’s so nice! I loved the open field. I meant to bring our badminton net so that we could play at the campsite, but I forgot it at home. That’s OK because there was so much exploring to do in the area. We went to Neah Bay which is about an hour drive from this campsite. it was so beautiful! However, you don’t have to go very far for the beauty. We also went to salt Creek recreation area and Crescent Beach which is right down the road. Crescent Beach is a private beach so it cost our family $30 for a day use pass, But it was totally worth it. We brought our wetsuits so the kids could get in a very cold Pacific ocean water. The campsite had the cleanest porta potty I have ever seen. That is key when camping with kids. We had to borrow the picnic table from the empty campsite next to us and bring it over to our site. The only negative part to the whole experience was that there was no picnic table available in our site, which isn’t a huge deal. We usually like a picnic table on site for making morning breakfast and putting out snacks.

Peak's Edge was a simple place to stay in a great location. We loved the proximity to the national park and the Salt Creek recreation area. The property was quiet (you could hear neighborhood chickens) dark and super clean.

Site 2 is the way to go
We had a one night stay in site 2 to be closer to Hurricane Ridge. Pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness. It's semi-private. The other campers were friendly which is always a plus. Really appreciated Melodie's directions as Google Maps were entirely inaccurate. Also the neighbor's animals were really not a bother.

Recommend
This was an easy site in a beautiful area of the country. As the past reviews have said, the neighbors’ animals are VERY loud. I’ve had chickens and also lived on a ranch, so those reviews did not worry me. But the acoustics around the tent site is such that I even had a difficult time sleeping with the farm noise. Second night, I was prepared with ear plugs and slept much better. Campsite was lovely with a table, fire pit, and non potable water with a short walk to the very clean porta potty. Definitely check out Sandy Point and all of the gorgeous hikes the area has to offer. We needed lots of bug spray for the mosquitos at the camp site. It is a heavily wooded area with easy parking and beautiful wild blackberry bushes. Thank you Melodie for sharing your place to strangers.

Nice camp area all to yourself!
We had two good nights here. This is quite a large camp area that easily accommodates two tents, and feels quite private. There is a large gravel area with fire pit for seating and a table for preparing your meals and such. Since it's late spring, there were lots of nature sounds -- lots of birds, frogs and owls at night, and the neighbor's horse and rooster -- all part of the rural landscape! But very little if any other human noise. All in all a really nice change of pace from a crowded campground, and you don't have to listen to a bunch of RV generators! All good!

Wonderful hosts who provided a cooler of non-potable water that came in handy, as well as fire starter, cut wood, lawn games, hand soap and sanitizer, and a very clean port-a-potty! The site IS near another farm, so there are a good share of animal sounds through the evening, but otherwise, well kept and a great location!!

Be Weary of Nearby Animals
I want to preface this by saying everything within the owner's control was absolutely fantastic. Site was well kept, we were given firewood and other supplies, and that porta potty was cleaner than most regular bathrooms. The main negative to this site is that it's very close to another property with many animals who, as barn animals do, tend to make a lot of noise in the morning and the dog likes to bark at night. We were kept up very late by the dog and woken up early by the animals. Like I said, nothing that the owner can control but I still thought I'd be helpful for other people to know ahead of time.

The toilet was pristine. According to the log, it looks like they get it serviced about once a week. The fire pit was safe (gravel perimeter and sturdy metal components). They provided non-potable water, firewood, hand soap, and extra tent stakes. There are three tent sites, one connected to the parking circle. The parking area looks big enough for a large truck at least, and our SUV had no problems. The dirt road leading to the sites was easy to get up, but not super wide. I don’t know the host’s RV preferences, but I would check the measurements and get permission before I brought anything bigger than a truck up that road. We never saw our host, and had the site to ourselves on a Thursday night. It’s about a ten min drive up to Salt Creek Rec area and about a 5-10 min drive to Fresh Water Bay. 20-30 into Port Angelas. Warning: Google Maps will try and have you turn on to Raleigh Road, follow the directions and turn on the NEXT road on the right.

We enjoyed our night at Peaks edge campsite. It was private, quiet and there was a clean porta potty on site. We drove a couple miles down the road to Salt Creek Recreation area and watched the sunset- highly recommend! Not far from Port Angeles, and only took us about an hour to get to Hurricane Ridge the next morning.
