This camping experience takes place on a 200+ year old farm. We currently offer 8 camping options, 7 of which are all accessible by either all-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive vehicles.  The first location (along the main road) is solely for RVs or travel trailers (TT). The other 7 camping locations are for tent camping, and much smaller/narrower and rugged RV/TT with a 4-wheel drive towing vehicle. Daniel and Cherith Kennedy purchased this 164-acre farm in 2014, and Daniel's parents, Brent Rita Kennedy, purchased the 1800's era farmhouse from Daniel and Cherith a couple years later. Together, we have transformed this farm back into a working farm with hay fields, cattle, donkeys, goats, sheep, chickens and any other critters we buy or rescue. We are currently rehabilitating the 1700's era one room schoolhouse at the front corner of our land as well. This farm is full of memories, hard work, and is absolutely stunning. Your hosts on-site are Brent and Rita Kennedy, and they are famous for spoiling our guests rotten. They can give you tours of the farm, some in-season eggs and veggies as they have available, and even throw in some goat-petting opportunities. They love having visitors and are sure to make your trip memorable.

Serenity Now!
The hosts were very welcoming and showed us a beautiful spot on the farm for our RV. It’s completely private, you won’t hear a peep from traffic, or people, only the sounds of breeze in the trees, cows lowing, and crickets chirping. Very serene. We chose this HipCamp because it’s situated about halfway between locations we wanted to visit. The Channels, an absolute must hike, and Breaks Interstate Park, where there are plenty of opportunities for rock climbing and hiking! We also made our way to Hungry Mother State Park for a little Mt. Biking! A busy stay for sure!

Incredible views
We stayed on the farm three nights of our week long spring break and this was our favorite spot of the week! The hosts were amazing and we could tell they were passionate about the farm. The views were incredible and our campsite was just perfect. We also loved hearing the history, seeing the animals, and exploring the caves!

Wow! Absolutely amazing.
Wow. Absolutely amazing spot. Off the beaten path and on to what I predict will be one of the highest rated sites in Virginia. You turn off the main highway, and then turn into the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. The road is is rival to some state parks I've visited. Daniel's parents were very charming and accommodating. They let set my tent up under an eve because they heard some bad storms approaching. The place is full of history. The original homestead is still there from 1847 and he's buried there somewhere on the property. His wife isn't too far but they couldn't bury together because of a bad winter storm.
