It's our second time camping at Pine Forest and definitely not the last! Amazing place to camp with family and friends with amazing views. You also get to see deers and lyrebird. Our favorite himpamp site! Highly recommended. Mike is also an amazing and friendly host!

We loved staying at Allambee. A very beautiful and peaceful place. Having the toilet was great as we came up with bikes. Flat tent spots under the pine trees. Hope to come back again.

Lovely and private spot. Very peaceful and we had a couple of lyrebird friends with us.
Easy instructions, composting toilet clean and plenty of options to put your tent.

What a special little weekend away. Such a beautiful and secluded spot! Spotted a lyrebird which was especially great for the kids (and grown ups).
Mike was super helpful and organised a bundle of wood and left it ready for us ahead of time.

Beautiful space for stillness. Easy access, friendly host, checked in and left us to be which was appreciated. The space was truly ours. We took 2 neurodivergent kids who at times got pretty rowdy. The seclusion was perfect for them to find their feet in the new environment.

We absolutely loved camping here! The area is beautiful, and the property itself is so peaceful. We particularly loved having the entire place to ourselves. Mike was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!

Great place to get away from it all. We felt safe while having all the seclusion we wanted. Beautiful bird life and the drop toilet does not smell and feels ok to use.

A hidden gem! Surrounded by trees and a bit of open patch makes the wind resistance perfect! Mike the host, helped us buy firewoods which were cheap 1000% better than fuel station buy.
With only 150kms from cbd, and on a mountain high, this place is the best camping spot

Lovely place to relax, nice and quite and surrounded by beautiful nature. Easy access from the main road. You may have the chance to see the herd of deer at the property as we did

We booked this forest on mostly rainy weekend, however we still had such a wonderful time. The land is beautiful, super well maintained and the unregimented pine and cedar are just a dream. Mike was very helpful with a tent mishap and super friendly. Would recommend for a tranquil and luscious getaway :)

Great location with spectacular drive getting there. Loved hearing and then seeing lyrebirds. While the site was large, there wasn't a lot of level ground - but we knew that before so not surprised

Beautiful location to camp under the pines, plenty of flat space for our large group to set up. Lots of firewood everywhere to forage which was a bonus. Mike was a fantastic host who greeted us on arrival. Only 10 minutes from the local town but still felt secluded. Beautiful drive. Highly recommend!

We had a fun stay at Mike's. The site was shaded and had a lovely breeze, which was wonderful given there was a three day heatwave that coincided with our stay. We were very comfortable, the kids had a great time and it's fantastic to have access to a long-drop.

Mike’s place was quite scenic! Lots of trees and greenery. Toilet was a drop dunny, nothing fancy but we were more than happy to have it, it’s a luxury having any toilet at a site and it was clean one at that.
The following is not necessarily the host’s fault: we were told in advance we would be sharing the site with another group. The only issue is that they had a tonne of gear - 2 or 3 huge tents, a caravan, solar array, trailer and some other stuff - a really good set up but they had it spread across the majority of the flat area meaning we had to settle for pitching our tent underneath the pines on an angle. A pretty sketchy set up with the winds blowing the branches over our tent around. The flat area is also really the only area that sees sunshine so we spent majority of the time in shadows and freezing as we couldn’t light a fire due to fire restrictions - fair with the wind for sure.
This is not to say that we had a bad time or anything but more of a note that if there is a big group in the good spot you’re going to be a bit limited in what you can do.
Drive over to Thorpdale for a good pub feed at the Traveller’s Rest Hotel.

This is a great place! Very quiet and peaceful. Our dogs love it too. And you can have a walk along the road to see the mountains and trees and hear the beautiful birdsongs. Will definitely come here again!

Mike’s camp was a great getaway for both humans and dogs. Would highly recommend for a little piece a secluded paradise within a very short drive from Melbourne. Toilet was clean and it was easy to find.
