A picturesque retreat on 180 acres of beautiful Australian bushland just three hours north of Melbourne, the Paddock at Ulupna is the perfect spot for weddings, family events, business functions, and quiet getaways. We have eight self-contained cabins with full kitchens and air conditioning, 15 caravan camping spots, and a 234-square-meter, hand-built mud-brick event space. Located on Ulupna Island – nestled between the Ulupna Creek and the Murray River – we are a five-minute drive to natural river beaches perfect for a refreshing swim, BBQ'ing delicious local saltbush lamb, and enjoying the tranquil atmosphere. At night, sit around the campfire to tell stories and watch kangaroos snack on the nearby grass. Look up for not only the most incredible stargazing but also to find koalas in the trees – Fluffy Butt and River are their most beloved regulars. We would love to host you for an unforgettable getaway!Pitch a tent / park your van- View native bushland from the comfort of your personal traveling abode! The Paddock accommodation and functions is a beautiful escape on Ulupna Island. Bring your caravan, spend the night in our cabins, or tent it under the stars.

Camping with Koalas and Kangaroos ❤
We all loved tent camping at Paddock Ulupna! We were two families. One with 7year old kid and one with two dogs. John and (his lovely dog, Oreo)was very helpful. We wanted to stay away from busy crowds and he knew exactly where to take us. We were opposite side of the creek so we had the whole area to ourselves. We listened to songs while sitting around campfire until midnight. Noise didn't disturb anyone because we were far away from other campers. Kangaroos and Koalas were right next to us too. It was my friend’s first time camping in a tent with their kid and they said they loved every bit of it except flies.. haha.. Insect spray did not work on them. Learned our lesson to bring netted hats next time! This site had all the amenities if you want to stay closer to them. We had our own portable toilet so we didn't have to drive from other side of the creek each time to use toilets. However, we did use showers each day after hot sunny days. They also have fully equipped shared kitchen. We had our own camping cooktops and portable BBQ so we enjoyed cooking in front of the little creek. We are looking forward to go back to Paddock Ulupna.

Enjoyed staying here with the camper trailer, set up amongst the trees near the dam. It's a beautiful, well-maintained property, just a short drive to various beaches on the Murray River, or larger towns of Tocumwal and Cobram.

We had a wonderful stay at John's place. There are a variety of sites to choose from and plenty of space to make it feel like you've got your own area. The facilities are good too. Keep an eye out for the resident koalas - there are several on site. John is warm and generous with his time. We'll be back.

An amazing campsite full of nature!. We turned up ready to rough it but enjoyed the toilets and showers! So nice to be able to camp virtually in a national park with a dog. Thanks John for a great stay!
