Bring the family and friends for a secluded and private wilderness experience surrounded by 60 acres of forest. This totally separate wilderness camping paddock sits within our organic permaculture farm property where we grow fruits, veggies, nuts and flowers.  Set up camp in the shade on a gently sloping 2 acre paddock all to yourself - that's right - we are offering only one site listing (for you and up to 23 guests) situated about 1 km from the main farm house and completely surrounded by forest.  A genuine wilderness experience with forest (tree) bathing, spring fed creeks and total peace for you and your group very close to Melbourne. You can hopefully spot our resident platypus and kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, wombats etc. There’s also abundant bird life including lyre birds and eagles. Explore all the Yarra Ranges has to offer including a short walk to Shiprock Falls. Grab a coffee or pizza in nearby Gembrook and checkout some farm produce from your hosts before you leave. We have added a composting toilet, a drinking water tank and a bush pole shelter with cold water kitchen sink, phone charger ports, lights and hot water to a private shower and a picnic table with seats under cover.  We have an adjacent fire pit area with tree log seating.  You can order firewood from us too and a Coleman gas cooker with gas bottle (see extras). Most of the materials are repurposed from another property or scavenged from our forest. We hope to see you soon.

It was great! We had such a great time camping at Shiprock. The facilities make the stay so easy. The shower felt like luxury! And the kitchen and undercover area made it much more enjoyable as it rained for a couple of hours on one of the nights we were there. We’ll be back!

Fabulous site with everything we needed. The camp shelter, log seating and clean composting toilets were just perfect. The site itself is beautiful, open, nicely mowed and so serene. Rob is a great host - super nice guy and responsive and helpful. Definitely will be back. Thanks so much Rob!

great hidden place with privacy and out door settings, booked again soon after first trip. only thing to be mindful is the mobile reseption ia poor, tested with both telstra and optus networks, but good to be disconnected sometimes

Beautiful spot, perfect for a big group! The facilities are great, everything was clean and well kept. Huge open space to spread out in and nice and private. Rob was great and very helpful!! Super peaceful and relaxing, we loved our stay and would highly recommend!

Great space in the middle of a foresty area, with a shelter and picnic table that came in really handy when it rained. The toilet was clean. There was a great fire pit area. Good walk to shiprock falls. We had a great time, would recommend. Thanks Rob.

Rob was very welcoming when we meet him. He showed us around the property when we got there. It is a very lovely and open space get for all types of campers. The amenities on the property work great, and are easy to use but also out of the way enough to enjoy the space as a basic camp ground. Rob makes sure you undstand everything and makes sure you know that you can always get a hold of him for anything. The camp space is also close to a couple town centres being only 15 to 20 minutes away. He has information at the camp site and details of other places and activities that are close to the site. We will be coming back again soon. Adam

Absolutely stunning spot to camp over easter!!!! Facilities were great, site was clean and well kept and surrounding scenery and scope for exploring was just what we were after :) perfect sport for young families. Thanks for hosting us on your bushland beauty not far from melbourne!!

Shiprock was perfect for our big group of 11 kids and 9 adults! The kids could run around and have the best time ever while the adults relaxed. Plenty of space for everyone, lots of things to see and do and excellent facilities. A+ swimming spot at Doon Reserve, 15 minutes away!

We stayed over Australia Day weekend. Excellent facilities, toilet and shower were easy to use. We travelled with 2 young kids (5 and 3) and they had a ball walking the bush tracks and walking to Shiprock Falls. Rob was great, very accomodating and informative of the site and local area. Thanks for the stay, would definitely recommend and we will be back soon.

We had a great time and Rob was a great host. The facilities are great providing us with great meal area, and the site was great for a casual camp with the kids. The only issue we ran into was a lot of ants throughout the site, if we did this site again I'd pay a lot more attention to where we put our tents.

Rob was a fantastic host, very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The campsite is absolutely beautiful - we had terrible weather so the camp kitchen and shelter was an absolute godsend and turned out to be very weatherproof!! Highly recommend this site and already looking forward to our next stay!

We had such a relaxing wonderful stay at Shiprock - perfect campsite, wide open space surrounded by forest and creeks, walking distance to waterfalls and very secluded. Facilities are great for families (hot shower in the forest is a highlight), and a great little covered kitchen area. Rob is a very good and friendly host and really looked after us, even scoring some fresh lettuce from his veggie beds. Can’t wait to go back!
