A secluded get-away, Sea Mist is positioned at the end of The Great Ocean Road. Just a short walk from Logans Beach Whale Nursery and the picturesque Hopkins River. Close to enjoy a variety of water activites swimming, fishing, kayaking, surfing. Logans Beach Day Spa and a female gym is 5 minute walk up the road from the property. Proudfoots, a historic restaurant, on the Hopkins River about a 15 minute stroll across the bridge and along the river walk past the boat moorings. They are well known for delicious food, great place to go for tea or weekend breakfast. There is also a walking /riding track and board walk promenade that will follows the foreshore and finishes at the Break Water passing the Warrnambool Surf Club, Lake Pertobe and some terrific restaurants, Simons and The Pavilion to note, which is a great place for breakfast or lunch. The CBD is only 5 minutes drive from the property great variety of restaurants, art galleries, gift shops, boutiques and speciality shops as well as supermarkets and other large chain stores such as, Woolworths, Coles, Audi, K-Mart and Target. Set on 2 acres, Sea Mist was purchased as a subdivision in 1998. The garden and house were also designed then and given council approval the following year. The extensive gardens incorporate both design ideas that Edna Walling used, and Bill Mollison and David Holgren developed with their Permaculture principals. The gardens were established over a number of years to follow, aiming to be as sustainable as possible. Although the property has town water connected, for most of the year it runs totally on tank water. The wastewater is recycled and used on many of the gardens. We have organic orchard and vegetable gardens that use companion planting and successive crop rotation. Guests are free to spend time in the garden and pick some fruit and herbs for a snack to use in cooking a meal. Please be respectful and leave plenty for others to share.

Celestial Glade is for camping in tents only. The flat clearing adjoins the forest area. It is very private. The entrance is through the large hedge that shelters our "Food Forest" from the driveway and north wind. The flat grassy clearing is a pleasant surprise. It faces east so perfectly situated to enjoy both sun and moon rises and the stars too. It enjoys good morning sun, is shaded in summer by the garden behind and above, which includes some deciduous trees. The site has views across the tiered orchard levels below and Logans Beach Valley beyond. It also looks out across the paddocks and coastal vegetation to the south-east. The beach is nearby and the ocean can be heard from the site. There is room to pitch a four-man tent or one or two dome 2 or 3 man tents. A short walk across the drive from the site is a leafy sitting area to enjoy a different perspective of the garden. The orchard is below and easily accessible. A little further down the drive is the shared sheltered barbecue facility, and just past that is the track on the right to the composting toilet and the carpark opposite.

Park your vehicle on the solid flat site, good for vans, campers, and tents, Also welcome to pitch a tent on the flat elevated grass area and nearby to the compost toilet. Power and water are on the site. Enjoy hearing the waves crash during calm nights. And the stars above. There are good shade trees to enjoy sitting under on summer days. The site is off the driveway, but there will be cars passing by occasionally. The main house is at the top of the drive more than 200 metres away. There are 4 holiday apartments on the property, but the closest studio apartments are about 80 metres away and not visible. There is a purpose built sheltered bbq area for guests to use opposite the 2 studio apartments. There is a common camp-fire gathering area at the top of the property, other guests need to be considered. Please ask if you would like to enjoy a fire one night.⁹

Sea Mist Traveller's Rest
What a treasure! Sea Mist is a gorgeous permaculture garden a few minutes away from the dramatic beaches of the Great Ocean Road. I came in a 7.5m van with my children to find a peaceful solo spot with power and water with nearby squeaky-clean compost toilet and shared access to a grill. Kate and her husband invited us to a campfire at the top of the hill, which was one of the highlights for my children, along with walks through their gardens where they met duck and geese and ran along the many meandering paths. The beaches nearby are also very special. There is a long beach that is wild and windblown, feels very dramatic, but also a beautiful sheltered cove where my children spent hours making sandcastles. Staying here was one of the highlights of our school holiday trip.

Kate's property was fantastic for our family of 4 in our camper trailer. The flat and solid landing close to the driveway entry was quite sheltered considering the very high winds we dealt with on a couple of days. There is easy access to water, power and toilet. We did find the area only just wide enough for our camper plus annexe but were able to manoeuvre into a usable position. There are many activities nearby, particularly the Logan's Beach whale watching platform. Perhaps due to the prevailing northerly wind, we experienced a lot of traffic noise some nights but aside from that it was quite peaceful.

Lovely property right next to the town and very close to a great whale watching platform. Composting toilet was clean and very functional. Kate is friendly and a great hostess. The permaculture garden / orchard is incredible to explore and a real inspiration.

The views from this campsite were amazing and the area was very secluded, it felt like you had your own private grove. Kate was fantastic and gave detailed instructions about everything and even offered information about things to do in the area. I had a great time!

We loved camping at Celestial Glade, it's a lovely, grassy spot with a wonderful outlook across the farm and surrounding land. It's also a great place to look at the stars at nighttime. Although you are staying on a working property, the campsite is very separate and feels very private. It is situated on the outskirts of Warrnambool and close to town and beaches. Kate and Steve are super friendly and welcoming, providing plenty of information about where you are staying and where to go locally. They were generous with their time as well, sharing their produce from their farm and it was great to have amenities available including a compost toilet & power and the opportunity to have a fire one night when the wind had died down.

This was a lovely camping option for those who don’t enjoy crowded caravan parks in the school holidays. The site was tidy and level, slightly sheltered from the wind, and very quiet. It’s close to beaches and a short drive from town. The composting toilet is a short walk and very clean. We also enjoyed the well-equipped barbecue area. Kate was a very helpful host with lots of local information and advice. The actual site is tricky to reverse into uphill with a camper trailer, but Kate and her husband were excellent guides. Thanks for a terrific stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this beautiful property—it’s a joy to explore, the kids loved picking their own apples to munch. The campsite is functional, pleasant, and well-kept, with the soothing sound of waves at night adding to the charm. Kate and Stephen were friendly, helpful hosts who made the experience even better. Highly recommend!

Thanks Kate & Steve for a lovely stay on your property, we felt very welcome. It's a special corner of the world, between pristine beach, (surfing, boogy-boarding, body-surfing), and Hopkins river, shady trees and birdsong. We all enjoyed our family holiday, especially the peace & quiet away from tourist central. Thanks for going the extra mile and helping us out with a backup esky! Would highly recommend.

We had an incredible stay at Sea Mist Traveller’s Rest! The site was level, well-maintained, and offered a quiet, private setting—perfect for a peaceful getaway. The facilities were excellent, with access to water, power, and a clean, well-kept toilet. The BBQ area was a great bonus, complete with all the necessary tools. Kate was a fantastic host, providing valuable local knowledge about the area. She went above and beyond by suggesting activities and must-see sites, which helped us create a great itinerary for our stay. Her recommendations made our trip even more enjoyable and stress-free. This was an awesome place to park our Delica! Kate made us a great fire, the site had a clean composting toilet, cute geese in the permaculture garden, and a peaceful and quiet van camping experience. We will come back soon!

We enjoyed our time at this very impressive property! Very comfortable space with great views, well sheltered from the wind. Was quite private despite others staying on the property at the same time. Very well planned property with everything you need, and extensive instructions make everything easy! Would definitely go back again.

Hostess was rude to us when we came up to greet her and have additional information. “YOU DIDNT READ MY TEXT DID YOU ?”, even though the text in question was addressed to me with the wrong name on it. She does everything by text and is probably overwhelmed with multiple businesses. Spot is lovely but we lacked a good welcome.

A garden of Eden!

My partner and I pitched our 5 x 5 metre bell tent on the Celestial Glade Camp spot and loved it! It was snug but we had enough room for our table and chairs. We were situated above a wonderful garden, overlooking apple and pear trees whilst hearing the ocean in the distance. We got to eat said apples and pears...what a treat! Kate was so warm and welcoming, we loved hearing about the Sea Mist property - she and her husband have done an amazing job setting it all up. The location was fantastic. It is such a stunning area around there and we visited lots of beautiful beaches and the awesome Deep Blue Hot Springs. We left feeling so refreshed, with a deeper connection and love for Warrnambool. We will definitely return. Thanks so much Kate.

Kates place was lovely, such a beautiful environment and garden with close proximity to the river and beach. Kate was very accomodating and her husband helped us with a 10A to 15A cable so we could connect our motorhome. We were there with our 2 kids towards the end of our great ocean road trip and we can all highly recommend a stay at her place. Thanks Kate!

Kate has a lovely garden in a spot within easy walking distance of the river mouth, so a lovely natural area. Great to have use of a composting toilet, and bbq gear if we had wanted to use it. Our Ute with a rooftop tent fitted neatly into the space - anything bigger would be tricky.

I camped at Celestial Glade on Kate's beautiful property. It had everything you need, including a power point to charge to my phone. Going to sleep every night to bird songs and hearing the waves crash in the distance guaranteed a good night's sleep :) The property is in the perfect position for exploring the surrounds - so many gorgeous walks you can do either from the property or a couple minutes drive. I especially loved the Whale Nursery and Ritchies Point. Another must is to drive out to Port Fairy, Griffith Island at sunset to see the lighthouse and all the beautiful wallabies. I hope that I can get back down to Warrnambool again and I will definitely be staying at Kate's place again. The campsite is so secluded I felt like I had the whole place to myself. Highly recommend staying here.

We enjoyed our stay at Kate's property. The site was levelled and shielded from the weather. The instructions were very clear. We enjoyed the serenity of the place during our four-night stay. I'm looking forward to returning. For people with a camper trailer or caravan; - There is water and power - The power is via a 10amp plug (not 15amp) - The tap is a bit away, a 10m hose doesn't reach it.

I loved this place! Beautiful and peaceful ! Kate made sure we were comfortable at all times and put together the best fireplace at night with marshmallows and wholesome chats! Would definitely come back again!

We loved staying at this property! Great location, walking distance to the beach, very safe and quiet neighbourhood. Kate was lovely and went above and beyond during our stay, she was very accommodating when we had to change travel plans. Beautiful place, quite & excellent hosts. The power & water connections to my 19 foot caravan was great along with the toilet which was very clean. Close to Warrnambool shops & restaurants and whale watching platform. For medium to large caravans, you just need to have very good skills as you need to reverse up a driveway.
