Murray River Bush Camp
Lovely rustic campground
What a lovely sound to wake up to … a family of kookaburras! It certainly beats car horns and traffic noise, my usual alarm! We camped as a family of 4 brothers and sisters and children (and their children) over the 24/25 Xmas/New Year period. Julie and Mick were the very best hosts we have come across in our camping time. So friendly, nice and helpful. The campground was easy to find with Julie’s instructions and it had plenty of shade from low trees (not the widow makers). The toilets were maintained meticulously (porta loos with a facade of rustic wood … lovely touch) with plenty of toilet paper and soap all the time. The shower was wonderfully hot and very roomy. Plenty of room to shower 3 x littlies. Sprinklers were put on throughout the campground to help the grass grow and to keep the dust down. We even sat under them on a 40C plus day. 😊 There were a few other groups of campers there too and we were not on top of each other. Julie bought over a fire pit for us and you can purchase wood too. I would have liked to swim in the river, but there were free campers camped at the jetty, so felt like we couldn’t swim there. The campground is about a 30min drive from Moama beach … which has plenty of parking and easy access into the water with both a grassy picnic area and sandy beach. There is also swimming available at the Torrumbarry weir too. Great place to watch the paddle steamers go by. We loved Torrumbarry and will come back to Julie and Mick’s.

Murray River Bush Camp
The hosts Julie and Mick were lovely, and very efficient in keeping everything clean and tidy. The camp ground is nice and flat with shade if you want it. The Murray River is very accessible either by walking or driving. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. John & Janeen

Murray River Bush Camp
Murray River Bush Camp was a lovely relaxing camp. Julie was warm and friendly. We enjoyed the shady trees and lots of space for the kids to ride their bikes. The shower and toilets were great - super clean. We had a great time. Make sure you pack the fly spray.
