Tucked away in the rural heart of the Bellarine Peninsula you’ll find Maddens Lane Cottages, two charming farm-stay cottages available for holiday rental. Minutes away from amazing wineries, stunning beaches, bike trails and Adventure Park, but a world away from the hustle and bustle, these lovely cottages offer a restful retreat. Situated on a 30 acre property, the cottages are nestled amongst native trees, overlooking open farmland. If you’re feeling energetic, why not head off to the beautiful Bellarine Rail Trail, stroll down the lane to the local harvest shop, roll out a yoga mat for a serene start to the day, or pack a picnic for a day out exploring the countryside or the beaches. So much to do in this lovely part of the Bellarine, come for the weekend or stay for a week! 10 mins drive to Ocean Grove/Point Lonsdale, 15 mins to Barwon Heads/Queenscliff/Portarlington Guests are welcome to wander the grounds of the cottage, including a wooded area and open grassed paddock. PLS NOTE: PEAK BOOKING TIMES: Late Dec/ Jan school holidays, public holidays attract longer minimum stays and peak pricing, pls see calendar for pricing and availability. Whilst we usually try to accommodate requests for variations to check-in/ out times, unfortunately during peak times this is not possible, apologies! SAFETY PRECAUTIONS We welcome guests of all ages, however please note that our fences are farm post & wire fences, and are not toddler proof! There is also an electrified fence around 50m from the back of the cottage as we have two wiley mini Highland cows who love to explore! The fence is clearly signed, but young children must be made aware of it. There is no handrail on the front and back veranda/ decks - whilst not particularly high, care must be taken when using these areas.

Applegarth Cottage

Applegarth Cottage is a beautifully rustic little retreat in the heart of the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula. Tucked away in a peaceful pocket, this one bedroom farm cottage is the perfect hideaway. So close to stunning surf beaches, incredible wineries and winding bike trails, yet it feels a million miles from anywhere! The cottage sleeps two* in a luxurious king bed, with a cosy living room, cute kitchen & dining space, and a gorgeous bathroom complete with walk-in shower and clawfoot tub. *We can also accommodate children up to two years old sleeping in a portacot. There is a split system for efficient heating and cooling, with a cosy wood heater to be installed for the coming winter months. The fire pit is a beautiful spot for stargazing and marshmallow toasting, and our curious mini highlands are always up for a chat and a carrot over the fence! A scrumptious farm brekky is supplied for your first morning, including fresh eggs, milk, bread and homemade granola. Quality linens, soft robes and special treats dotted throughout the cottage make this stay a cosy and comfortable escape. Pls note: Applegarth Cottage is one of two available on the property, its sister cottage The Station Master’s Cottage is also listed on Hipcamp and can be booked separately or together with Applegarth Cottage. If you would like to book both cottages pls send an enquiry for either and we’ll send you over a special offer. The guests are welcome to use all parts of the house and surrounds. The area is fully fenced, however pls note that our fences are post and wire and not toddler proof! Pls note there is currently no WIFI at the property. Mobile service is reasonable (with the odd dip in certain parts of the property!).

The Station Master’s Cottage

The Station Master’s Cottage is a beautiful 100-year-old cottage tucked away in the heart of the Bellarine Peninsula. Fully renovated, the cottage sleeps up to four guests in two queen bedrooms, with a separate kitchen and living/ dining room. The bathroom, complete with clawfoot bath and walk-in shower, is a peaceful space to soak away the day with a glass of local wine. All linen and towels are provided, alongside a breakfast hamper for your first day including local sourdough bread and farm fresh eggs. With a cosy wood burning stove (plus a split heating/cooling system) in the living room and a fantastic deck and firepit overlooking farmlands and native trees, the cottage is a wonderful spot for all seasons. We also have an additional one bedroom cottage on the property, Applegarth Cottage. This is available to rent as either a stand-alone cottage or booked together with The Station Master’s Cottage. Both cottages are located in our beautiful back paddock, with their own private entrance and acreage. Guests are welcome to wander the grounds of the cottage, including a wooded area and open grassed paddock There is no WIFI at the property currently, however there is good mobile reception and a Smart TV, so if you have access to streaming services on your mobile data allowance you'll be able to access movies etc. We do also have a DVD player with some movies available if not!
