Hidden Valley House is nestled in Anakie, VIC, set within the scenic Brisbane National Ranges and only a 1-hour drive from Melbourne CBD. Taking into consideration our ethos around sustainability, the cabin is “off-grid” so solar powered with a composting toilet but with all the amenities you need. The cabin has spectacular views overlooking the valley with an abundance of wildlife and has a small creek and several caves which have formed over millions of years. As well as the cabin, we offer a camping area to larger groups that need overflow accommodation if the cabin is not big enough. This makes Hidden Valley House a fantastic option for large groups wanting to have all the comfort and amenities of the cabin, but experience the back-to-basic joy of camping in nature. Set on an 18-acre property at the start of the Brisbane National Ranges, it is home to koalas, kangaroos, echidnas, sugar gliders and an abundance of birds including eagles and kookaburras. Furthermore, the land is protected by Trust for Nature and Land for Wildlife offering long-term protection for many ecosystems, species and native wildlife. The property is surrounded by national parks and is only a short drive from charming, historical towns such as Meredith and Steiglitz and only 25mins to Geelong. A number of family-owned wineries are located nearby and within Victoria’s Moorabool Valley winery. AWD/4WD recommended

Come and escape to this fully self contained, 'off-grid', solar powered cabin. Just 1 hour from Melbourne CBD, you'll be able to completely switch off just a short drive from creature comforts. The cabin sleeps 5, and while it's an off-grid experience it still has all the amenities you need including a gas stove/oven, fridge/freezer, compost toilet and hot indoor & hot outdoor shower. We include a backup generator also. The cabin is surrounded by natural Victorian bushland which is Trust for Nature and Land for Wildlife protected. You can spot Koalas, Kangaroos, Wallabies, Echidnas, Phascogales, Lizards, Eagles, Sugar gliders and more.  It's just minutes from a range of wineries; cafes and close to the You Yang's for mountain biking and hiking adventures. Relax by the fire, play some board games, read a book, watch a movie or go for a hike. Sit on the balcony, enjoy the serenity and immerse yourself in nature. Fires are permitted in the fire pit provided but please be aware of any fire restrictions. Firewood is also provided.  Not suitable for toddlers/small children. No pets, sorry. Enjoy full use of Hidden Valley House, but also pitch a few tents and enjoy sleeping under the stars! This listing is perfect for larger groups who would like to use the cabin and it's facilities, but also experience the back-to-basics joy of camping in nature. You'll have full use of the cabin (accommodates 5) plus use of the whole property including BASS Camp. The base rate covers the cabin guests, and then additional guests/campers are charged at $55 pp/pn. We can readily accept up to 10 campers in BASS Camp. We may be able to accommodate much larger groups but in these instances, we would need to look at hiring additional toilet options, so this MUST be discussed with us prior to booking. Please just mention your needs/numbers to us and we'll see what we can do!  The property is very private, but there are neighbors Our fully self-contained off-grid cabin is solar-powered, so please be mindful of power usage. No hairdryers, or clothes dryers here! We also don't offer Wifi - we encourage all guests to disconnect! It includes two bedrooms, a gas stove/oven, fridge/freezer, compost toilet and hot indoor & outdoor shower. We also provide a backup generator.  The camping area is a very short walk from the cabin, and there is space for several tents. Pack a head torch to navigate between the camping and cabin at night!  Fires are permitted in the fire pit provided but please be aware of any fire restrictions. Firewood is also provided. A generator can be supplied - see extras to book.  Campers must take all rubbish with them and bring only cans to the site. The camping area does not have its own facilities, you'll need to use the cabin facilities.  Sorry, no pets. Campsite AWD/4WD vehicle access only The property is only 1hr from Melbourne CBD and is surrounded by natural Victorian bushland. The land is Trust for Nature and Land for Wildlife protected. We are only minutes from a range of wineries, cafes, general store and close to the You Yangs for mountain biking and hiking adventures. Or you can stay on-site and enjoy the fire, views and surrounding area.
