Site 5: 50 ft paved 30/50 AMP RV
Hour drive from San Antonio
Site as promised w/30/50 hookup. Nice and flat and easy to access. Surrounded by ranch & farm land. About an hour from San Antonio so plan on visiting the city as a full day trip if that’s your goal. 1/2 bath w/w & d a real plus.

Perfect Private Camp
I enjoyed camping at Everfree Shire Ranch. It afforded a peaceful and private getaway from life. The host, Michael is very welcoming. He's there if you need him and responds in a decent time frame if you have questions. Yet he doesn't invade your space. Camping here you'll hear more wildlife than you see. I woke up to roosters and saw cows and horses in neighboring fields. Sitting outside at night you can see soooo many stars, it's the most beautiful thing. If you're passing through and need an affordable camp site, this is the place to be.

Perfect private camping experience. Not everyone camps the same, and Evershire worked perfectly for me. It's right off the highway, but not too loud even with trucks passing. Micheal, the host was very welcoming and friendly. He's there if you need him but doesn't invade your space. He's also pretty quick to respond if you reach out for anything. I enjoyed seeing the horses on the neighboring property daily as well as waking up to the sound of roosters nearby. If you're looking for a low-key country camping experience, this is it!

Mike was a great host with a farm style property on the outskirts of San Antonio. His two horses are very friendly. Close to the city, yet far enough away. All amenities close by. People in the area are very nice. Will definitely return. Thanks Mike!

Site 5: 50 ft paved 30/50 AMP RV
We'd been here before, so we knew we wanted to come back. The outdoor shower is operational and worked great for us. 30amp power functioned perfectly, and water is very nearby, as is an indoor toilet. There is a lot of highway noise, but earplugs work to deaden that at night. The goatheads are a challenge, but I have a lot of experience with them from my time in New Mexico, and I enjoy the meditational time spent picking them out of my shoes when I come back inside. Walmart is nearby as are restaurants, like Sonny's pizzeria, which I enjoyed thoroughly. HEB grocery store is in Lytle, up I-35 a few minutes, and I loved the Mexican food at El Rincon in Castroville, about 20 minutes away. All in all, Michael's place is an excellent value. I love it!

It was my first hipcamp experience! So quiet and peaceful at that spot (#3). There is some noise from the road but I was fine. I didn't make it to the campsite on time my first night and ended up car camping my second. Thank you!

Michael is a great, considerate host who messages if anything is happening on the land. Water and electricity are nearby as well as a camp shower near the restrooms. At night, the restroom path is lit up with lights which adds a nice touch. As others mentioned, there is road noise that dies down later in the night but it did not bother me. Be mindful of grass burrs if you're tent camping but there was a clear spot without any. Overall I would recommend Everfree Shire Ranch if anyone is in the area needing a budget friendly place to stay!

We enjoyed our stay at Everfree Shire Ranch quite a bit! We enjoyed being a ways out from civilization (but not inconveniently so) and looking out over the cows and horses nearby. The yard itself had too many burrs for our dog to comfortably run around, but there's a nice city park close by that we enjoyed visiting for walks. Our host, Mike, was very kind and accommodating. He made several improvements to the property while we were there and was extremely attentive while still leaving us plenty of space. We'd absolutely stay here again!

Great location and amenities
We truly enjoyed camping on Michael's land at Site 3. It's right on a small highway, and we slept really well in our A-frame camper -- a solid 7 hours for me the second night! There is a lot to love about this place, like almost all the stuff I miss when I'm boondocking -- regular electricity, running water, and a toilet. I wish there had been a disc golf course nearby, but I guess I can't have everything! The only unenjoyable thing about the land are the goatheads (what we called them in New Mexico) Michael mentions in the listing, so we were sure to wear shoes when outside. As for our host, Michael was very responsive and friendly, and I highly recommend Everfree Shire Ranch!

Country Camping
We loved Micheal’s place. We were in our camper and the electric and water hook up was easy. He is very friendly and informative. We got to watch beautiful sunrises and sunsets. It’s super quiet, the only noise we heard was from the car traffic , but it didn’t bother us! We enjoyed walking his property for exercise and exploring. The kids enjoyed the little play house we had in the back, and his horse, Summer loves the carrots and watermelon we brought her! It has a lot of pickers, so wear pants and boots to avoid getting stuck. We appreciate Micheal listing his place for us to stay.

Close to the interstate quite peaceful no one bothers u walmart is about half mile up the road Michael is very helpful respectful and doesnt bother u as long as ur following the camp rules great place honestly the only bad thing is those freaking sticky lil things in the ground i forget the name briar patch ir something like that they will stick to ur shoes or clothes lol but hey ur going famping could be worst i love the place will definitely go qgain

Really great find!
This was perfect for me, just what I needed. I've been car camping and have trouble sleeping in cities. This is close enough to San Antonio to enjoy the city stuff and still wake up to a horse when I look out my window in the morning. Michael is very helpful and accommodating. Site is clean, safe and quiet. There's some road noise, but not enough to bother me. Really glad I found this place.

Really great find!
I car camp, gonna be in San Antonio for a few weeks to see the city. I have a really hard time sleeping in the city, so was very lucky to have found this place. Came in late and woke up to see a horse hanging out on the other side of the fence. Owner is great with responding to msgs/questions and very helpful. If you're looking for a quiet, safe and clean place to stay this place is great. There is a little noise from the road, but not enough to even bother me at all.

Michael is an incredibly proactive communicator — he gave us a heads up on every likely challenge we would encounter and was super helpful when we arrived after dark.

To me it was great easy easy access right off the road not no long dirt pot jole trail no this is a driveway and right there r the camp sites plus very quite no noise my nieghbors packed up and left and i didnt even know thats how quite and respectful and orice is great love it will be returning

This was great for what we needed. Something simple and inexpensive as we passed through. Could have been paying a lot more for a crowded RV park.
