Tent Camp at Historic Lodge
Nice spot to set up camp. It was freezing at night so the heated common area was really appreciated. Nice and clean common area, and a well kept yard. I wouldn't mind camping there again.

A little bare bones for the price
There aren't a ton of places to stay in West Texas so we were thankful to find a spot. But for the price it was a little too bare bones. Jenny was very responsive though, which was very helpful. Could be we just were rubbed the wrong way by the rude folks in the RV next to us (we were in a truck camper) who were very put out that we were in their truck's "parking spot".

Preserving West Texas History
I am such a fan of communities such as this, with the added bonus of the historical building on site. I felt very safe the whole time I was here, and as a solo traveler this is very important to me. The community center was a beautiful and well maintained building with a bathroom and hot shower, located just next to the campsite. They have a large selection of games and books about the area inside. The road on site was easy to navigate. A quick note, while driving in from the east, I did lose cell service until about 20 minutes from Ft. Davis, but had strong service once I got into town. I was able to pitch my tent very close to the parking area and was comfortable all night. All in all, this was a great stop on my road trip and I highly recommend it.

Jenny was a fantastic host! So hospitable, she made our trip even better than we hoped! Me and my friends were in a bind trying to find a spot to camp in near Marfa and were pleasantly surprised to find Jenny’s place. Got a warm shower and a good night sleep and even got to stargaze. Would definitely stay again!

This was a perfect mix of the fun of tent camping with amenities to keep things from getting stressful! Sunroom full of beautiful flowers, the office off the sunroom had a wonderful selection of books and games, and the patio with grills and a refrigerator meant I could keep my coleman and icebox in the car and not worry about lugging it around! The campground faces a gorgeous mountain, the whole tent area feels like you are camping in a desert themed botanical garden, and though we only stayed one night we saw 3 hummingbirds! Will definitely return and for a much longer visit next time!

Lovely property with awesome amenities! Access to a hot shower and bathroom were greatly appreciated! Thank you for all of the detailed directions and instructions. We had a great time watching the sunset from the sunroom and enjoyed the water feature in the yard. Would stay here again!

Truck Camp at Historic Lodge
Our site was private and very satisfactory. We appreciated the restroom, shower, and game room, and we especially enjoyed the communal grilling and dining area with a fridge and free ice for coolers. We were just a half-mile from town with views of the rugged surrounding. And thanks, Jenny, for being so helpful.
Be aware of a lot of goatheads. It's part of camping in West Texas.

It's a great place to recharge your battery! It was blissfully quiet and the sheets on the beds were incredibly soft. Jenny also had some great suggestions regarding hikes and bird watching in the area.

Perfectly located.
Great quiet place. Jenny was super attentive to our comfort and needs. Perfect location for exploring Davis Mountains, Marfa, Alpine and Big Bend. The kids loved playing cornhole at the end of the day.

A serene West Texas stay
Location close to the state park and really welcomed the propane stove and communal kitchen (and fridge) after two weeks on our camp stove. Road traffic isn’t too loud but if there’s a Friday night game going on, ability to see the star-lit sky will be dampened.
